Very true Deerhunter...Very True....just bat the ball down if you can't catch!! And on the very last play...did he throw it across his body with his left hand too!!..#5 should have had at least one of those last 3 touhes...Murphy had no answer for him..just like EW had no answer for #28

I believe the boy who threw it was left handed but yeah they should have just kept doing what was working.

Watched most of the 2nd half and neither team had an answer for the others offense for the most part…. The TD catch to give Murphy the lead could have been a totally different outcome and after starting the last drive at the Murphy 35 there were several questionable things that happened on EW’s part but I did agree with trying to drain the clock down as far s possible to limit time left for Murphy… Question for any EW fans, was the regular WB banged up for the last drive as they decided to run wildcat more frequently on that drive which seemed to take the rb #5 out of the equation some imo??

Very Good Question..and where was #10 the regular QB?..#4 is the best athlete on the team...but EW running Wildcat is not a strength...just not sure on those last few play calls that definitely costed EW the ballgame....Lol...im at arm chair QB..i make all the right calls..lol...if it would have worked..i would thinking the coach was a genius.

Somebody posted on the local papers Facebook page....After bashing Murphy for a while she did go on to say it they thought it was just a stinger.

I have 2 comments: 1st is I really hope there will be a medical standby such as rescue squad or ambulance in case of injury. Last night at the East Wilkes/Murphy game we waited 20 minutes for an ambulance with an injured player on middle of field because one wasn’t on standby. 2nd is Since Andrews and Murphy are only like 2 minutes apart, which team will the Refs be playing for? Last night it was clearly Murphy as they were clearly ignoring punches being thrown against the visiting team, players stepped on intentionally, timeclock not getting started accurately by ref in press box and hurdling which isn’t allowed.

We believe it was just a stinger. Took him as a precaution. He was giving a thumbs up but trying to lay still as well! Hopefully we were fortunate. It would have been all the same if it had of been severe though.





I'll not dive into any of the complete BS she posted but glad to hear he's ok.

It isn't required to EMS on standby as far is it? Just a trainer or first responder. EMS departments are struggling like everyone right now so it's crazy to expect them go station a crew at a football game knowing there are other needs in the county as well.

Yeah im not getting into a pissing match over a game thats over and done. But watching the live stream there was several times both teams were being classless. No disrespect to the kids on both teams that was knocking the crap out of each other then helping each other up. As for the clock and all, i have no idea. Couldnt see all that on the live stream, but I have seen videos of both teams being dirty. But its all over and done now, no use in even discussing it.

Wilkes uses the county rescue squad and im sure gives a donation to the organization or pays the individuals their self. As far as a paid on duty ems unit, they only respond to emergencys. Idk the rules but was under the understanding that as long as their was a certified EMT on site with means of communicating to their dispatch was sufficent. But I dont know.

Wilkes has a luxury some counties may not have, and 25 fire departments willing to station a crew at a game.

Looking at the handbook all I can see is a certified athletic trainer or first responder.

I am glad the East injury wasn't much worse than it was.

The fire departments just offer parking help. The Rescue Squad is the ones that provide the Unit and medics. Which im sure the fire departments have some medically trained members there as well.

No sir. In 2,017 two Robbinsville players lay on Mitchell field for a long time waiting on an ambulance. Game probably delayed for close to 25 minutes.

It’s football !! You have teams who are playing and hitting till the whistle blows. That’s what you are taught to do. Sometimes teams push those boundaries and in my opinion want to see how far they can go and evidently some coaches don’t care if their players are playing on the edge. Having said that you can’t complain about officiating if you are having players taking shots when the ball is 40 yards down field. Many teams allow this type of play I guess in some type of intimidation and are willing to take the risk but to me it shows no discipline. How many tds or long drives are nullified by these actions just for trying to be more physical. If that’s how teams want to play then you can’t complain when the flags are flying all night. To me it shows a coach has no control of his team when these actions are the difference in winning or losing.

Well I'm sorry about that but that's rare usually there's one there sometimes I guess they may get a call and the only one left.
I just watched a video someone made at a game this year and it was setting right there. Plus we have a different ambulance service today than we did in 2017 these are county ambulances they even have a purple Mountaineer painted on the side.
