quick thoughts on tonights game.
First of all, we haven't come close to matching the intensity that we had against Rocky Mount, nor have have we looked as good as we did against them.
I feel we did the exact same thing that we did last week. At times, we just appeared to be going through the motions. No fire, no intensity. This could have been because it was a Thursday night game, or because it's North, and well, it's hard to get up for north. Either way, we've got to start playing with a little more fire.
This team certainly has plenty of talent, and I believe more talent than we had last year, but we can't sleep walk through the season, or someone's going to hurt our feelings. I fully expect to get better in this area.
Next, I believe once we get some guys back from injuries, that will help some on D, but the D has looked shaky at times.
Again, these are young kids, and they came out and dominated the team that beat them last year. It may be times this year where they do struggle to get up, but I believe the coaches will get that corrected.
Last, the young RBs are elite. Mason was sensational tonight, they had no answer for him. He's a 10 yards a carry machine. The freshman, wow, that's about all I can say. That last run was something of beauty. Those two backs are going to be tough for Defenses to stop for years to come.
