Tarboro vs Hertford county

When you have athletes at the receiving positions, plus an athletic qb, the qb draw is one of the toughest plays to defend.
This is the WORST defensive performance I’ve seen Tarboro play in a while lol
As you can imagine Hertford acting like they won the state championship
Here they come, acting like no one said that HC would give Tarboro hell.
I'm not to worried tbh. Our offense hung 54 I don't see anybody in the 1a east beating Tarboro atm
He had him beat for the game winning and dropped the winning TD pass!
Hertford County would wish anyone of their school!
Tarboro has been the top dog of this area for 10+ years. Anytime a team east of I-95 and north of US64 can beat this juggernaut, then they deserve to celebrate like they won a title, because beating Tarboro is saying something, especially for those teams playing in that area. Those kids and fans deserve to celebrate however they wish. It's not often Goliath gets slayed.
Y'all May laugh at me for saying this but the team that Tarboro play tonight has a very good chance at coming out of the 2a East. Does this loss hurt yes. But we scored 54 points and lost not many times in a high school football game can you say you scored that many points and lost unfortunately tonight our defense had no answer for their quarterback. Because of our offense plays like that the rest of the year I don't see anybody else beating us. Adjustments definitely need to be made on defense but offensively I don't see any.
A lot I could say, but I’ll just break it down with a few observations. First of all, congrats to the bears, good offensive game plan tonight.
Alrighty, here we go.
For starters, as much as we talked about how great we looked against rocky mount last week, the same couldn’t be said tonight. We had a good number of flags, and a few delay of games. Hertford county came out and seemed to play more inspired. They were fired up to play us and at time it looked like we were just going through the motions . This game clearly meant something to them as you could see from their response at the end of the game.
next, I get some are upset about the play choices on the last drive, but our offense scored 54 points . Offense wasn’t the issue, they played pretty good.
I’ve said in other post, despite being older than last year, we are still pretty young, and that youth showed at times tonight.
speaking of youth, how about 24, the young sophomore Rb. He was sensational tonight. Good news for us Tarboro fans, we are going to be really good for the next four years.

im glad we are a program that people want to beat. I’m glad we are other teams Super Bowls because it means we are doing something right. Good new is, with the young talent we have, we are going to have folks gunning at us for a while.
I don’t think any other 1A team will have what the bears had tonight, if so, I believe we’ll be ready for the challenge .

Yeah I share a lot of the same sentiments you do my friend. I'm obviously hurt that we lost but we hung 54 points on them and still had a chance to win the game. We just had absolutely no answer for their quarterback tonight. But based on what I saw from our offense tonight I don't see us losing another game this year In the regular season
Agreed! I absolutely hate losing, but our staff has done to much for me to think they can’t correct those issues
Look at last year. Perquimans hangs 40 on us in the regular season and then we shut them out in the playoffs
I remember last year against perquimans we gave up 40 points and after that we were almost lights out the rest of the year. I will say this though, after what tarboro's JV team did to Hertford county on Thursday I don't see them beating Tarboro again next year. And if there was a year for them to beat Tarboro it was this year. And like you said earlier in this thread while we do have experience from last year in the fall we still are really young and very thin.
I don’t know. That QB is only a junior. It’ll be a tough game again next year assuming we play them again.
He's only a junior? Well I retract that statement lol if they are still on our schedule next year they will be a tough game.
The QB alone will make them competitive I believe, but very rarely do you beat our staff twice , we’ll be ready
From what I could tell, HC had nearly 50 players. I have to think there was some fatigue on Tarboro’s side in the 4th quarter with so many players going both ways. Both teams kicking game led to short field positions all game. It was a good win for HC. They were due. Congrats to them. Vikings will be playing in December.
The turning point in this game for me came when we turned it over late in the second quarter. We had a ten point lead they score to make it 22-20 but on our ensuing drive (which I believe we would have scored on because we were storming down field) we turned it over and they took advantage and scored to go up 28-22. Another one came when we turned it over late in the 4th prior to their turnover. I'm proud of how hard we fought, our players looked exhausted after the game so depth is still a concern.
