Highly doubtful at least based on what I’ve read about who is getting it and how it’s transmitted. Plus, vaccine for it is already available.

I think it could possibly be a problem later in the season; it's transmitted by contact and through air born breathing, even though they( the experts) say it's much harder to contract. I think if High Schools recognized a case early enough you can isolate a particular football player quickly... you can contain without it spreading (it definitely doesn't spread as fast as covid) but 10,000 US cases have now been identified.

Teams might need to inspect these players for visible pox or lesions on the skin daily. It needs to be monitored closely.
