6-3 West Rowan will play at 8-2 North Lincoln. In all honesty I wouldn’t be surprised to see North Lincoln win this one but I’m sure Crest would like a rematch with West Rowan from playoffs of couple years ago. Thoughts on the game.

This will be a good one. The game will be won in the trenches. The WR defense must not let the NL offense control the line of scrimmage. On the flipside, the WR offense .must move the ball and score TOUCHDOWNS!! The WR defense must force 3 and outs, if not this could get ugly!!!
This should be and ought to be the most watched game in the Catawba valley area. Not sure how North does against big time athletes and the strength of West Rowans schedule and how that may be a factor. This is a good program that I’m surprised even had 3 losses but to who? I hadn’t looked at max preps schedule yet I got lazy on that end before posting.
This also if I’m not mistaken marks the 1st playoff game for North as a 3A team and first time these 2 teams have met on the field. What does WR have as far as players to watch and what to expect?

I think West Rowan is pretty balance as for passing and running. I did read where QB of West Rowan completed over 2,000 yards passing for the season from the game the other night. Their 3 losses came from Davie 56-30, Mooresville 21-13, and Concord 21-13. In all honesty I figure they would of beat Concord. I do think this will be a very good game. Could be decided by a TD either way. We will see. Not sure what kind of pass and run defense North Lincoln has. But I figure this will be a good one to watch.

I’ve not seen North this year but 2 years ago from the close OT loss to Burns, they had really good freak athletes with speed and good tackling. 3 of their players from that team are n the ACC. A lot of tallent lost I wondered had they’d bounce back and even compete in 3A playoff wise.
2 loss season- 1st was to West Lincoln in a tight one. Beginning of season, prob made costly mistakes that kept West in the game and lost. I wasn’t there but West is tough and throughout the season they’ve won by small margins to teams that had only 2 to 3 wins. 2nd loss was a tight one to Statesville who is having a good season and is always loaded with athletes. That being said WR has lost to some good teams and sits in a tougher perhaps much tougher conf and schedule than North. Hopefully this is not gonna be like an Ashe Co vs Monroe game were Ashe was higher seed and home playoff game and was absolutely crushed up and down by 35 pts or more. Schedule strength can make a difference in this one, hopefully the knights can prove they can hang with some of the big dogs as they are well coached and carry fellas from an undefeated JV team 2 years ago and they have an undefeated JV team now so the progress should continue. I’d give WR the edge by 2 TDs just based on strength of schedule but I’m pulling for the Knights all the way hoping they prove me wrong

Bazzel finds ways to win and is one of the greatest coaches around. Just not sure what happened at his stint with Alexander Central but still a respected coach that has done big things at North. He will have his hands full Friday on the sidelines and being 3A now it’s a much steeper climb even from the get go as opposed to 2 years ago in 2A.
West Rowans 3 losses came against teams that would maybe not lay a big hurting’ on North or the 2 teams that beat North that being West Lincoln and Statesville but would win none the less. I don’t do the sophisticated percentage odds and ends like college and pro analyst do but pretty much I’ll put it like this- North comes under their own lights even with the higher seed as underdogs and will HAVE to play absolute mistake free clock management ball to stand a chance. No blow outs here, may come down to the wire like Burns 2 years ago, we can only hope.
This NL team (senior class) played Crest in the middle school Tri County Championship 5 years ago. They had a RB that could take the direct snap and go wherever he wanted to. I expect this NL team to win, but maybe in a close one!
Simmons has North Lincoln to win by 3. I think that is a good guess. My thoughts that this game could be decided by 7. Should be a good game.

I’m here. Not looking good for the Knights. Still 7 to 7 defense held there own WR missed a FG, but that defense of theirs has some track stars.
NL can’t pass of these guys. Too fast and WR just intercepted and scored on their first play. 14 to 7 WR
North driving. All runs and trick plays bout to score unless they mess up. If North wins it’s gonna be smarts and not speed and strength cause WR got em beat in that lol.
15 14 Knights on an unexpected 2 pt conversion. Bazzel don’t need to retire no time soon, only him getting plays like this practiced. Defense holds North may win it but WR is FAST and HUGE up front. Definitely a David and Goliath fight.
22 14 Knights with WR driving. Defense playing good but WR just picked up first down on 25
Refs giving this game to WR best they can ha ha. No way that was a pass interference ha ha. It’s all good Knights just intercepted them
28 22 North but WR driving hard after North’s failed 2 pt conversion. Hate to think their gonna lose this by 1 pt
Overtime!!! North hadn’t done well with overtime with teams in light blue.
North Lincoln had a chance to put it away but a costly fumble with a minute and some change left gave West Rowan life. I think I was yelling just fall down just fall down but he kept going trying to do too much and gave the defense a chance to punch it out. The quarterback played really well tonight regardless

West Rowan has a bright future with big wins coming next year if not next week. Only losing 6 or 7 seniors. Super young team with a lot of athletes. North, well,
They are WELL disciplined and WELL coached and should have some key returners next year to bounce back but have a lot of good seniors playing their final whistle of their HS careers. More seniors than WR that’s for sure. A rematch next year would be cool but WR will be way better with all the kids coming back.

They did yeah. Which was another questionable thing going for 2 and missing it which I guess I can’t blame coach cause overtime is stressful but I knew that one point not taken was gonna bite em and it did. But that’s arm chair QBacking for ya.
