Feel for the Havelock QB. Too many badly overthrown downfield passes to open receiversHolding CC to 14 points is pretty damn impressive. Havelock had some costly penalties that is out of character for them and some bad snaps from center that killed some drives. Edmonds injury was a huge factor too. You put that ball in his hand on the play Budget #24 had that big run. Edmonds would take that all the way. Git to give CC credit for winning. Havelock deserved to be there. I can't believe anyone would question that.
Good question, was thinking the same thing, hope someone who knows will post the answer. Is Catholic one of those schools with a boundary-less enrollments, or do you automatically go there because of where you live, like normal schools?
Technically yes and no. But honestly it doesn't matter. I don't even think they have a player going D1 on their team. That's just an excuse at this point. This same CC team lost to Weddington and damn near lost to Crest. They're beatable, but you have to play mistake free ball because Catholic sure is.Is Catholic one of those schools with a boundary-less enrollments, or do you automatically go there because of where you live, like normal schools?
I’m not saying anything about excuses. Your talent pool is not pulled from multiple districts. Let the privates play privates. We not making them excuses Catholic played great havelock made a lot of mistakes with penalties and bad snaps they had opportunities to win so no excuses

That's a trademark of championship caliber teams. Look at Reidsville. You make mistakes they make you pay. For all the mistakes tonight Havelock did not give in and give up multiple scores. Great game by 2 great programs. I hate it for @Ramfan75 .Technically yes and no. But honestly it doesn't matter. I don't even think they have a player going D1 on their team. I tried to tell you and easy that this group was hard to score on. But so many of you proclaimed that our kids would not want to tackle Edmunds and we have never faced a more explosive team. Neither of those statements were accurate.Lol u act as if this game couldn’t have gone either way please shut up
If havelock had won, you wouldn’t be whining.I’m not saying anything about excuses. Your talent pool is not pulled from multiple districts. Let the privates play privates.
Exactly any other team would have made all them mistakes against Catholic they would have beat their Brains in I think havelock played a great game outside of all the mistake I think you take all them bad snaps and late hits away it could have been different or it still could have ended 14-7 who knows they both played some the best defense I’ve seen all year specially on two of the best running backs in the stateThat's a trademark of championship caliber teams. Catholic and Cardinal Gibbons follow strict set of rules from the NCHSAA. If Forsyth County can play then these two teams can.I’m not saying anything about excuses. Your talent pool is not pulled from multiple districts. Let the privates play privates.
I believe they were the best offense y’all played bad snaps killed momentum on a lot of drives but Ill let you have that statementI tried to tell you and easy that this group was hard to score on. But so many of you proclaimed that our kids would not want to tackle Edmunds and we have never faced a more explosive team. Neither of those statements were accurate.
I expected a good game and thought if it was close, advantage to us. I know you can only play who is on your schedule but over the years the completion catholic plays is so much more difficult. That makes a difference. I was not surprised that we could not consistently move the ball as we are really young upfront. We lost one go our backs in the ACR game who is a big difference maker and lost our senior leaders when Neel could not play. 33 was on the JV team until the playoffs. But that is not to take anything away from Havelock as they were the best defense we faced all year, however they were not the best offense.
Maybe Havelock should open enrollment to the eastern part of the state?
They do have a de facto boundary of religion and tuition. If you are not Catholic you pay higher tuition and there are no scholarships.Good question, was thinking the same thing, hope someone who knows will post the answer.
Good god could you be any drunker on the kool aid?!!! You’re argument is they hardly have any D1 kids??? They have a endless influx of really smart, without academic challenged kids. Most PUBLIC schools design their football teams around 4 or 5 stud athletes. It’s not an even playing field.Technically yes and no. But honestly it doesn't matter. You live on my side of the tracks, you see a different world.. keep drinking the bleachWell it did not take long for a knuckledragger to pop up. Do you think we could recruits some kids out California like Myers Park. We know recruiting and getting transfers absolutely helps teams and these seems common place with so many schools. Your open enrollment argument actually has no merit.. Sounds good to you I suppose but then again you probably have not given that a lot of thought.
Yeah congratulations on the win maybe later down the road if they change the rules back we can meet again good luck in 4aI appreciate the good comments but most of teams we played don't make so many mistakes like that. So you were certainly not the best offense we played, but I thought you guys were lights out on defense. I also was impressed how well you kept our DE from being disruptive. You LT did a great job.
And who ever that freshmen running back you guys have has some f**k*** wheels on himI appreciate the good comments but most of teams we played don't make so many mistakes like that. You keep spouting the hate.. you argument about open enrollment demonstrates an ignorance in knowledge about how students are enrolled. When did larger areas to draw students begin to equate an advantage in athletics. You keep convincing yourself with bogus thoughts and then blame on a perspective from the other side of the tracks. No offense my friend but you are like 0-3. .You live on my side of the tracks, you see a different world.. keep drinking the bleach

Do you hear yourself? When did drawing from a larger population = better athletes? Again you are showing a lack of critical analysis. What is the percent of of Catholics in the state of NC.. since Catholics make up more than 90% of the student body and Catholics may be 5% of the population, how much bigger of any area would you need to fill out out your enrollment. I know this is simple math to most people...but you have to actually ask yourself to think critically first. Nothing better than someone being 100% certain of something they know so little about. I think you just went to 0-4.Do you hear yourself? When did drawing from a larger population = better athletes? Why do you think we have high school classifications?
it just words,
33 does have some wheels, we lost another young kid with wheels before the regional finals. The two of them are in our offense combined with our Big fullback and an more mature OL will be pretty nice. The end that caught those balls is a freshman as well. We have a lot of young talented kids. We are going to be a lot better on O but the seniors on the D were pretty special. I will say this again your interior D line play was awesome. Any of those guys underclassman.
Well I hope you have enough to smack Jacksonville around next years.
OK Blackhawk. If intelligence were the key determinate in the outcome of a football game, Harvard, Yale and MIT would be 1, 2, 3 every year in the collegiate polls. That hasn't happened. It helps but no coach is going to trade a 6'3" 235 lb. elite athlete for a 5'7" 160 lb. skinny armed egg head with a 4.0 grade point average. Catholic coaches included.Good god could you be any drunker on the kool aid?!!! You’re argument is they hardly have any D1 kids??? And I hope the kid you guys lost is ok and hopefully able to return back in the fall honestly if I end up staying in the Charlotte area and have a son I’d more than likely pay to have him go to Charlotte Catholic one the best and definitely the most discipline programs in the stateit just words,

Yeah but I was holding my breath every time they got the ball. Speed all over the field.Havelock lacks discipline.
Well, all collegiate teams mentioned don’t offer football scholarship’s or play substantial competition to be considered for national rankings. Where did the 6’3 sophomore starting TE at Catholic who caught the Hail Mary to beat Cuthbertson come from? I’m sure he lives next door....OK Blackhawk. Congrats to both teams. Great game from two teams that definitely belonged there.Congrats to CC on a heck of a game. Holding Havelock to 7 points?? I would have never believed that possible.
I wouldn’t go that far. That game could’ve gone either way!Catholic is just physically wearing havelock down . As in earlier posts one team hasn’t played anyone this year. Good team /athletic but not a championship team. Jmo
Yeah they have but when the classifications were subdivided.4 in a row. I know those in the 3A are happy Catholic is leaving lol.
But they've shown they can do it in the 4A as well.
