Oh don’t get it twisted. I hate open enrollment. Honestly every team in the county would be better without it. It’s destroyed my former hs. I root for Tabor and East because I have cousins who play for them and I want the county to win something.

Forsyth county has a lot of problems. If anything we should be an example for not have open enrollment.

Just to be clear. I have no problem with CC playing in the NCHSAA. I do think you guys have an unfair advantage with the players you get for the league you play in. The fact that you guys are able to field so many players (you brag about being able to have separate players playing offense and defense) while having a small population seems as if certain people go to your school for sports first and school second.

What I think is that you guy should be playing 4A football based off of that advantage. You keep saying these guys are 5'8 150 pounds, but that means nothing if the player is good.

The fact that many people feel some type of way about the way you're able to field players is cause for discussion. Along with a 25 mile boundary, Catholic also has defacto boundaries of religion and tuition. 95% are Roman Catholic and no athletic financial aid is given.

That's why I said there should be a discussion. Ever since CC came back to the 3A people have been complaining about them. It's also why I said I wouldn't really care if they stayed in the 3A.

If enough people complain about something, then it should be looked at. That's all I'm really saying.

We had to play CC in 2010 and 2011. Didn't hear a word from us about it being unfair. We went out and played the games and won. I respect CC. They play the game the right way and are well coached. It shows when they play teams like Huss. Stop whining. Weddington would have done the same to y'all so don't you think for a second that 3AA would have been different. Get outta here Whammy.

Christ the King Catholic High school opened up. This gave Catholic families around the Huntersville, Lake Norman area a closer option for high school.

What I find interesting about the “Bessemer City” player is his family is Catholic. Personally, I find that the most important district line for CC.

Your point about huss going to AA might be correct. They are tough no doubt.
Student athletes come to cch because they want the environment and education. They actually pay for it. The MAC's system has an independant board assign aid based on financial needs only and that board gets audited regularly by request from other schools in the NCHSAA. They have never seen any wrong doing. So There is no financial inducement for choosing CCHS over another school.
So, there is a draw based on reputation. If anything CMS keeps this arguement alive because they do not enforce their zoning.

Enrollment and the nchsaa went to 20/30/30/20 instead of 25 percent across the board for classifications

1A 20 percent smallest schools
2A 30 percent small schools
3A 30 percent large schools
4A 20 percent largest schools

Also some schools apply to go down or up depending on needs. They may get it or be rejected.

Projections were also screwed up. Oak Grove opened in Davidson county and that sent ND and ledford down to 2A when they belong in 3A.

As someone who knows that system well, even when regular non-athlete students apply it is near impossible to get financial aid. Athletes do not receive financial aid. Pretty simple, yet people don't understand it.
