Mounties have come far over the last several years. Folks look up now when their name is mentioned and that takes time. The region final is serious football only and KM is in. I was talking with a KM supporter last season and he was disappointed they came up one game short of a date with Catholic and said “maybe next year”. He was correct.

Don’t know anything about them beyond being well structured with good discipline. Nothing about offense or defense. Enlighten me.

Well, defense probably best in state across classes. Offense plays smashmouth football. Cchs can also pick among several targets to score quickly. They just keep finding new ways to score. Defense is very discipline where offense can struggle at times.

For except a couple runs Kings Mountain shut down Northwest is running game. Catholic will have to stop #12 the wide receiver every time it was third and long that was their go-to guy.

KM has a senior qb, Wade, who can throw it and run some too. D1 soph. wide receiver, Paysour, who can break the big one and a small quick receiver, Brittain, who seems to be open all over the field. Mack is a short, thick power back who runs low and punishes defenders. D1 size left tackle, Parsons, and if I remember a couple of big guys on the d line.

If KM wins, it will be because they outscored Catholic. I don't see KM being able to stop Catholic's offense. I'll go with Catholic by 14+

Defense wins Championships
.....and Catholic defense is SICK. Huss offense was swarmed all evening. Half the time they were running for their lives in the backfield. You could tell they had not seen such fury, such focus all season long and they fell hard because of this.

Woodshed football at its best. Huss was bent over and had their cheeks blistered in front of the home crowd by NC’s finest. I heard Pope Francis watched the game via satellite link. I’m sure he slept well after the outcome.

Foots, no dog is all over it. They have some special athletes and their lines ( both sides) are gamers. The also have an inside linebacker who is the truth. Don’t see them winning, but they won’t embarrass themselves.

Wade is the key to the Mountie cog! The game goes as he goes ! He can and will keep plays alive with his feet and can run and throw it

Will Km use that aggressive front of catholic against them with the screen game ?

I think it will be a close ball game 24-21 type game turnovers and special teams could decide it

Fan of both teams hope it’s a classic

CC is da truth.....if KM stays within two tds they’ve had a good day. CC demoralized HH in every phase of the game....an absolute curb stomping.

It seems like all the Crest posters with numbers in their names are haters and definitely KM football haters. You guys are definitely the least knowledgeable of the Crest posters. I am sure all of you will be cheering for the big red but somehow I think we will survive. KM is not coming to Catholic for moral victories and Huss truly curbed stomped the ponies into the dirt last week. I can only imagine how bad Catholic would have embarrassed the ponies if you would have made it that far. I guess a good day for Crest nowadays would be putting any type of points on the board against Huss. When is the last time Crest beat KM or HH anyway? My memory is kind of hazy on this. We have all the respect in the world for the Catholic program but a good day for KM is coming out of CC with a win not a two td loss.

With the way km is playing defense right now I think catholic could see the same type of physicality they saw with huss on defense. But km offense is much better and more explosive than huss. It was said by multiple people that huss's offense hasnt impressed considering their athletes. Km qb is quick and accurate and makes good decisions. 12 is by far the best receiver in the area. 4 was the fastest kid in the conference last track season if I remember correctly. Ifs and buts were candy and nuts. But considering catholic rarely makes mistakes, if km limits mistakes catholic will have their hands full all night. 12 as a sophomore is a game changer.

Believe and think what you like.... I’m not a KM hater. I will be pulling for the Mounties and the old Crest alumnus and OC. I’ve said all year long CC is the team to beat. No hate...I just think CC is two tds better. Go Mounties and Coach Lloyd pull the upset for Cleveland County

Go Catholic! Good luck to both and may you be injury free!

Btw, obviously KM and Catholic have great defenses. Ledford and ND in 2A have great D as well. The first game was 9-7 and this week will most likely be similar unless something crazy happens...

You can say what you want to about CC powerful offensive or defense but the Mountaineers are coming to play. If we have to use every play in the book, that’s what we’ll do. It has been a saying this year in Kings Mountain as it fits nicely “ Kings Mountain vs Everybody”

We know you’ll show up 72 and we’ll be ready. Don’t forget to ask yourselves:

Can you stop that RED MACHINE?

Charlotte Catholic is personally one of my favorite venues to take in a big game. KM has its work cut out for us playing a great team. A great CC team that probably would have been the favorite in 3AA and 4A also. I think that our kids are looking forward to the challenge. A wise man once said that “to be the man you have to beat the man”. KM may be the underdog but our kids and coaches will be there Friday cocked, locked, and ready to rock.

I have never seen a game there yet. I was looking a pictures of there place on line and it doesn't look like they have much room on the visitors side. Not sure if we all can fit.

It's a nice looking stadium, but it is pretty cramped. Guess they had to work with what was available in the area. If your fans travel well, then get there early.

You will really love it when their pep band comes down the road behind your stands. Then their student section and fans will line the stairs coming down onto the field. Great atmosphere. Championship games should have that kind of atmosphere.

Then get there early *shrug*
Yes it’s a little tight but the stands stretch the complete distance of the field. Also the stands sit right on top of field so you are definitely close to the action. The Catholic people working the parking, ticket booths, and concessions are absolutely some of the nicest people you will ever meet win or lose. Everything is well organized and well run or it use to be the last time I was there. This game will draw interest from outside fans so I will suggest you get their early.

Yes they were. All stadiums at each classification have to seat a certain amount.

Actually, Catholic before the campus was moved in the mid 90's to its current location played all its playoff games at Myers Park due to lack of seats.

KM 72 - good luck and I hope yall win. Your QB will have to play the game of his life, with KM getting some breaks to keep it close. I’m not a CC fan or hater, but it’ll be the best team KMs played in many yrs. Crest is 2-0 against CC going back to the playoffs in ‘10 - ‘11, but I’m afraid this CC team would have mopped the floor with those teams. GLs a very good OC and play caller and with Mack and the QB, KM should score some points, but they’re hard to come by against that defense. One word comes to mind with CC ....impressive!!!! Once again - good luck - go win the game and on to the next week to get a ring. If KM beats CC they should win the next week barring injuries.
