The Western North Carolina teams continue to impress as these playoffs progress. But both of those teams will get strong tests as we move into this third round. We have two great matchups as 5 seed Weddington travels to Boone to face top seeded Watauga. Then we have #3 seed Mount Tabor travelling to Asheville to meet #2 seed A.C. Reynolds. Last week I went 3-1 in this bracket and am 9-3 for the playoffs. This week's predictions are below.

Weddington 31 Watauga 24

A.C. Reynolds 31 Mount Tabor 21

That cold Boone night air just may be worth a few turnovers. The cold didn’t do South Point any favors last Friday night and I could see the same happening up in Boone. Turnovers were the difference in that game. JS

Hi of 53 in Boone on Friday. Looking at a kickoff temp of around 45. You cant get much better weather than that in Boone in almost December

I guess you didn't learn from champ' s forecast debacle from last week. The weather in Boone changes faster than some people change underwear. Regardless, I want the best team to win straight up.

Hybrid wishbone, pistol, option, veer. Etc. I think habich just adds wrinkles depending on the team he is preparing for. Everyone talked about how much speed parkland had, so habich added wrinkles so they key on the qb then Bryce Satterfield had 6 tds. I'm not boosting him just because he's at watauga, but habich is one of the best game plan coaches I've seen at any level.

Who? Babich? Come on man. Y'all know mountain ball don't get it done when it matters. If the make it a 4 quarter game I'll be surprised

Do you enjoy degrading people? Habich coached in the Fayetteville area prior to coming to Boone, and was very successful there.

12 degrees in Boone this morning. They haven't gonna to school all week. Weddington is in for a frozen treat.

Not getting done = Hunter Huss Husky football.

Since 1972 they are 270-255-6 with just 9 conference titles. That's 47 years of not getting it done. It's best not to throw stones when you live in a glass house.

There's a lot of talk about satterfield leaving app that will hurt if watauga looses Bryce

You never know. I know some of the family personally, his wife taught me in college and my sister in high school. I just don't see it. Not saying it won't happen, but I'd be surprised.

I know him as well, he is in my Sunday School class.......... We are friends!

I also lived across the street from the AD and our daughters are very good friends...... The new contract was so that we could attract a new coach. Trust me on this.
