Somewhat shocked that there hasn't been a thread already started about this game....I was at this game last year, and it was a tale of 2 halves with Sun Valley winning the first half and the Rockets winning the 2nd half....

Two of the better QBs are going head to head this friday for the 2nd time, and I hope that the game is as compelling as last year's game was...

As a fan of the Mountain teams, I would like to see the Rockets win, but I'm more interested in seeing how these teams matchup for the 2nd straight year...

Last year: Sun Valley had a big TE and a very durable RB who was tough to bring down....Everybody and their brother knows about Sam Howell, and what he's capable of doing, but what about his supporting cast this year?

As for the Rockets, they seem to go as Alex Flinn goes....I watched the Rockets against Shelby earlier this season, but have not seen them play since that time, I thought at the time that their defense seemed to be more aggressive than the defense they had last year especially on the DL, but again, I have only seen them against the Golden Lions....So Rocket fans tell us what is the difference between this year's team and last year's team?

Look forward to the game this friday!

ACR is young on D this year. I think maybe only 2 Seniors. The offense is fairly wide open. The offense has evolved over the course of the season with injuries and such. I think the biggest concern for ACR is stopping the run. That's my opinion. It should be a good game.

Sun valley is a bad draw for reynolds. Of course sun valley has one of the best QBs in America but their 2 losses are to weddington who is probably the favorite in 3AA and Charlotte catholic who is the favorite in 3A.... that’s tough. Reynolds is very good themselves so this game could go either way. I remember sun valley literally had 150+ yards in penalties last year too. (Maybe someone could find the box score on that).
Looks like it’ll be about 35 degrees at kickoff. Not too bad for this time of year.
Maybe for the fans but not the players

Last years game was a great game. I would have liked to see how it would have turned out had the refs got the 2 pt conversion call correct.
ACR is tough this time of year. Great coaching and a great QB too. I'm thinking it's gonna be another shoot out if the weather is good. If it's a slug fest on the ground, should be interesting. Both teams are good. I'm pulling for SV to win. But actually could see it go either way.

Sun valley will win

You sound awful confident. They very well might win but it will not be easy. We all know about their quarterback but Reynolds has a D1 quarterback their self. He's not as high ranked as the Howell kid but he is a very good player. I'm pulling for a Reynolds and Erwin upset if you want to call them that. I would love another shot at the Rockets after the way we played earlier this season against them.

Just ignore him, he’s a Hunter Huss nut hugger, they’ve been irrelevant since the they opened in the 70’s and now they have a undefeated season and he thinks this will be their new norm...but it will not.

AC has an OLineman that Miami is recruiting so there is that...I just think ball down here is better

i think this is going to be a great game. the game last year was decided in the end with us running the ball at will over and through their defense.i feel certain both teams are a bit different from last year.both teams have great passing games. i believe that will even out. i think whoever runs the ball more effectively will win the game.

Saw SV in the Catholic game, and honestly wasn't all that impressed, CC imposed their will on them pretty much all night, but that very well may be the best team in 3a, if Reynolds can be physical up front I think they take this one, but we all know the Howell kid is special and could pull this one out

SV is not as good as they were last year and I have heard AC is a little off as well. I would not use Catholic as a measuring stick. They are the best team in 3A. It’s hard to compete with a district that includes 5 counties and 2 states. If AC runs inside and is physical up front they may have the advantage. Howell is not only a great passer he is a physical runner as well. I think this will be another great game.

Any team with Sam Howell under center is dangerous. Sun Valley is no exception. But, they are a step behind last year as many seniors graduated from that squad. I think Reynolds wins here by 10-14 points in front of an adoring crowd. Good luck boys.

I think Reynolds pass D is a little better than last years, at least by the time Reynolds played Sun Valley, at that time Reynolds had lost 2 starting DB's, however we seem vulnerable to the run a little this year. The key to this game is controlling Howells running. Last year we had a hard time getting him down. If we can keep him from rushing for 100+ yards I think we can score enough to beat them. If he runs wild we are in trouble. I think this game is decided by 8 points or less.

One more thing, not just this game but for all the games, I remember what the legendary Bobby Poss always said, he said the hardest thing to do in high school football is to travel the day after Thanksgiving. 3 of the teams have long road trips, lets see how that effects Sun Valley, Parkland and Erwin.

A score off a turnover will be the difference in this one in my opinion. Howell will air it out and has that stud receiver, but he is probably the most physical running QB I have seen in the last 10 or more years. Tough to bring down. ACR should be ablebro match offensively though, that’s why I’m saying the TO is the difference maker.

After last years game and this years performance, I think it will be another great game of likely 7 points or less. A.C. has a very talented QB and talent across the board, and depth. Several play makers and they just don’t quit. Special teams have created a lot of points this year. Sun Valley is also evenly as talented. My opinion is the team with the least penalties and turnovers wins this one. 4 great quarters of football will find your winner.

Hardly anybody here tonight. I have a feeling a lot of games are like that. My buddy said Heritage was the same

Nobody at this game. It’s not even a football game at this point. Players sliding, about 7 fumbles already, 3-4 turnovers.

Screw that I'm out of here. That is without a doubt the coldest half of football I have ever sat through. Sideways rain and 35 degrees don't go together at all. If you look at the radar there's a huge amounts of ice all around. I said it earlier in the day but I cannot believe they didn't cancel these games until tomorrow night when they been calling games all year for freaking drizzle.

It sucks we couldn't really see these guys play. You can tell the quarterback from Sun Valley is really good but it's so freezing cold and wet that he can't do nothing

its A shame we didn’t get to see these 2 teams actually play a football game tonight. What this is is a struggle to see who can hold on to the ball. Neither team is running an offense. They are just in the gun handing it off or keeping it. I guess it benefits acr since there is basically going to be a running game with very very little passing, but neither team is really running a real offense. When I left there were a dozen plus with me running to their cars. Heavy winds and sheets of rain and sleet coming down sideways.

The best part of that game was when I got into my car halftime and turned the heat on. Good thing I didn't drive to Winston-Salem though because it looks like my team didn't show up either.
