Good football coach you lost.West Caldwell is the dumping grounds. Get used to seeing it like the old days every 2 years a new football coach...

Yeah they were really good in the SD7 and then fell off a cliff once they moved to the NW 3A/4A
I remember West Caldwell track star Willie Perry. That guy could fly! Went on to University of Florida and was a standout there as well. He did go out for football one year at West but didnt complete a full season. I would have used him as a kick returner if nothing else. Super fast
I wish they could get that coach up on the mountain to come down here and that would be the Watauga Pioneer coach, he would be perfect but I'm sure they would have a hard time getting him away from up there.
Never gonna get the football program going as long as Stephen McMasters is the AD. He's the one making all these dumb decisions. Time for him to go!
Habich would never leave Boone and the luxuries of coaching there to move to Gamewell. Not saying he wouldnt bolt for the right job, but West is far from it. He has App state in his back yard with extra perks being the only high school in county. Lots of money flow through those hills. Will he leave at some point, yes, but not for West
What is the right fit? Just curious as to what the west faithful think they need. With all the ups and downs and coaching changes as well as administrative changes, might be a good time for the community to get involved. I think everyone in the county would like to see west get back to at least being competitive, and i think this coaching change is very important.

They need to go outside the building and bring in a young coach like tgey did with English, but the only problem with that is if they turn the program around they will leave for more money. So with that being said monty would be the perfect fit being he has ties to the county and he would stay.
West has a history of keeping things in west Caldwell family.... see the new hire for basketball Billy Anderson. Not saying that's always a bad thing as it does bring some loyalty that doesn't come from the outside. Hopefully the right man will be hired and things can get better for the Warriors
