Well let's get this one rolling....A key game and must have for both teams as they are looking to possibly clinch the Big South Conference....both teams are undefeated in Conference play and they both look to run the table the rest of the way...I haven't checked the weather for Friday nite but lightning aside I don't believe it will matter...Rain or Shine this one is gonna be some rough tough smashmouth Big South Football....thoughts and predictions ?

Huss may have the better team but Crest has been in so many of these games before. I will go with the Chargers 28 to 21.

Huss is clearly the more talented team. However, call it lack of discipline, or whatever. Huss has shown signs of weakness in certain areas. Huss reminds me of the Crest 2015 championships team...they have the tools to win it all, but something ain’t quite right. Or something is missing.

Special teams...field position...tactical football if you will...these are variables that will matter when the talent matches up....Huss has done a pretty good job with special teams. That aside I know the coaches had to be frustrated with the KM QB connecting on so many Russell Wilson-like scrambles on third down...getting Creat off the field will be a big priority....

Crest is battle tested for games like this. The experience alone is worth 12 pts. Huss is loaded but I give the edge to Crest.... 26 to 16

Crest Offensive struggles are very concerning if the Chargers don’t have a good first half they might get blown off the field

Itll be interesting to see how Huss reacts to adversity, if they see any this week. I'm not sure that has a trailer in a game at all this year. Crest seems to have athletes around the field that can match up with Huss. I think it can go 1 of 2 ways, crest finds their offense 31-28 crest. Huss's defense is for real 35-14 huss. If Huss is down on the score board late how will they respond

That's a really good question...Not having seen the taillights of anyone they've played this year...will be interesting to see how Dawgs respond should Crest goes up early....

Much like the Weddington game, I can see Crest offense really struggling against an athletic, physical defense like Huss. I think the Crest D will hold their own but could wind down if their O doesn't put together any extended drives. Hate to say it but I think Huss wins this one.

This one will likely come down to who plays most mistake free ball. HH has a lot of athletes as does Crest. Penalties and turnovers will likely be the key.

Crest fans get ready. The PA guy at HH will drive you nuts. He interjects so much unnecessary BS rarely heard at any other school. Annoying is an understatement. If you win it will be tough to walk away having enjoyed the evening.

Those are all comical but not obnoxious.
HH PA will put on a show from beginning to end. Trust me when I say there will be 3 performers Friday night. The Huskies, The Chargers and the PA guy.
Hope it has changed since we were last there. If not.....it will be a long night win or lose.

The PA hasn't changed much....so honestly...honestly...please bring some ear plugs for early game music... only because they don't know but one volume level...all the way up....if they could just cut the volume level down a few notches I would be much happier...

From the games I have seen the Senior is having a good season. Did a good job throwing the ball and runs the read option pretty good also. Doesn’t throw the ball a lot as Coach says they are a run first team.

What to do about it?
  • Might as well go ahead and throw up
  • I will contact Seadog to organize an intervention. We may need to call in Coondog and Coach Lee.
  • Dr. Phil always has treatment options to deal with the disease if you are willing to go on his show.
  • If the disease is not treated you could wind up like Kaepernick and have no clue what is right and wrong.

The post above is correct, you're gonna need some ear plugs...I had a headache before the game started listening to that music. Imagine you're back in HS, riding in some guys moms caprice classic and the volume knob is wide open. You can't speak, you can't hear, you can't even formulate thoughts in your head other then how you'd like to be arrested for cutting the wires to the sound system.

Maybe its mind games, is it that bad on the "home" side...Crest FYI you're with the pressbox...right next to the speakers.

Good luck!

Whamo you always reference SP's last meeting with Huss in a game where Huss clearly won 21-16. SP tallied 381 yards of offense while the Huskies totaled 159. Could the reason you only refer to that single game possibly be related to the fact SP won the previous 9 consecutive meetings over Huss by an average of 4 TD's a game. All this suggest that "The Redbone" is one bone your dogs will not benefit chewing on.
Thanks for sharing!!!

No matter who wins or loses both teams will benefit greatly from this match up, and I’ll go ahead say that there is a very real possibility for a rematch between these teams come play off time.

So the press box side is the visitor side now? I believe it was the other way around the last time I went to a game at Huss.

Its been a few years since I made the travel to Huss but I do remember getting warned about the PA guy being obnoxious. That rang true, I normally find humor in that stuff but he wasnt very pleasant to hear. Maybe he has gotten better since then. but this should be about the ball game and it should be a good one, it will come down to a turnover or who commits a penalty to kill a drive or keep one going.

It's the animation used to describe every tackle a Huss player makes or descriptive comments unnecessary for PA guys to broadcast on a mere 1 yard run by a HH back. Unless they changed guys on the mike you will likely hear the same thing.

Have thought for years they should turn that upper field into a giant PKG lot and place the front gates directly and evenly between both stands where the scoreboard is located...equal easier walks for both sides...then the home side can reclaim their huskies pressbox...and a great PKG lot for attendance...guess that makes too much sense ?

While your at it, help South Point figure out where to put a parking lot down too. Oh and Gaston County needs to ditch those crappy aluminum stands and rebuild those concrete stands like Ashbrook has.

Those stands on the Huss old visitors side (now home side) are flat out dangerous. I'm amazed they didn't get condemned back when East Gaston, South Point and Cherryville failed inspections and had their stands replaced. Also, wear ear plugs the Huss PA and announcer will ruin your hearing.
