Took us a couple weeks to get rhythm with out Trevon Robinson. Should have beat Erwin even with out him. This week the kids seem different. It could be a dog fight. Well I’m hoping for one.

I’d like to agree with you cougarsofahs but I’ve heard through the grapevine we will be missing not only the mountains best wr with an injury, but also another senior starter for disciplinary reasons due to something that happened last week. Just such stupid stuff that kind of shows how little these kids now a days actually care. When you have seniors doing it it makes it even worse. Hard to care as a fan when the players don’t care. Then we wonder why we have fallen on such hard times. It’s obvious

Do Asheville fans ever quit making excuses? Even if Asheville was 100%(which most teams are not this time of year) and the so called mountains best reciever(which is not true) was playing it still wouldn't matter. Asheville is a good team but they are not beating Reynolds even if they were at full strength. You don't hear Reynolds complaining about losing one of the best rb's in WNC. It just seems like there is always some excuse from Asheville fans.

If we lose it will be because it rained all week and we didn’t have time to practice outdoors and the fact that we got new turf and our players are slipping all over the field. Not Reynolds players, just ours. Also if we lose it’s because we are missing our best receiver and another senior starter and the pre game meal will have made all the players sick. The weather will be a little chilly Friday so some of our guys are sick. Reynolds recruits so if they win they were supposed to win. It must be nice to have a college qb on your roster. He probably transferred in and the Reynolds players take steroids. If we lose it’ll be because the games are at 7 now instead of 7:30. We are still getting used to the spread offense and our QB arm is sore.

So Asheville fans, are you just trying to boost our confidence by saying your best players won't be playing? Who are you referring to? I know the WR who got hurt before the Erwin game is out did you lose two more? I'll tell you I'Dre Bell won't be playing for us and that will be tough to overcome.

Sounds serious, glad you aren’t putting a name out there. You are right that’s all about being selfish and letting your teammates down. I don’t know who it is now I’m sure I’ll see tomorrow at the game, but it’s still a rivalry and I expect his replacement will be fired up to show he can do the job.

I seem to remember a Erwin team a few years ago who literally beat down everyone they played including dropping 69 on ACR, do the same thing right before the last game of the season vs Asheville. We lost 3-4 of our best players who were seniors and the team fell apart. All over a little weed. Kids will be kids but you have to be smart.

Dang man, my Falcons aren't that bad. Haha. We were young, quite possibly the youngest in the conference coming in, before we got decimated by injuries along the line. Then we got younger by bringing up some JVers. That stretch against NB and TCR was our low point. The good news is that the cupboard wasn't empty. JV team has gone 16-1 in it's last 17 games and from the 2nd half against Erwin to now, the youngsters are learning to play. It's not to say we will another game but I think if this team were playing NB or TCR now, it should be different.

Anyway, West is up 36-0 at the half. It didn't quite take an hour and a half.

it was a good game.reynolds qb and reynolds defense was the difference in the game i thought.the 100 yard int return for a touchdown was the back breaker though. our running backs stepped up real big to replace bell.great job by the whole team. go green

Yep. Going in half 18-14 game I think we can keep it some what close... but after that INT. Killed us. Can tell from the kids body language

i did see a lot of positives on ashevilles side though. that running back was verry tough to bring down. the big receiver was very good too. i know your qb is a junior right? do you guys have a lot of juniors playing now?

All three guys you speak of are juniors. Believe 15 is jr as well. Couple OL/DL are underclassmen as well.

Doesn’t matter if next year we are still as undisciplined as this year. Penalties, turnovers, fighting, not showing up to practice, texting during practice, downing kickoffs at the one yard line, throwing the ball on the 1 yard line etc.
Those are the keys to .600 records and not winning playoff games.

Ashevile will be Asheville again when they get the right coach in there. Any coach could get 6-7 wins a year at Asheville on talent alone with that schedule, so nothing Burdette has done from an actual coaching standpoint has impressed me in the slightest. And all those discipline issues you just described? Thats a direct reflection of the coaching staff.

If I were Asheville I would try to lure Pritchett from Brevard to the High after this season. #1 He isn't from North Carolina (so no long standing attachment to the Brevard program). #2 Prior to Brevard he was the defensive coordinator for a school that played in a 4A state championship in Georgia (Asheville needs a coach with a good defensive background or at least one who has put out good defensive teams). #3 He has turned around a moribund Brevard program in short order (he's proven he can build up a tradition rich program that's fallen on hard times). #4 His Brevard teams run a balanced offensive scheme (should be able to ultilize Asheville's athletes effectively). #5 He is a relatively young coach that was also a D2 All American player (should be able to relate to the players well).

That's because for years Asheville was getting a ton of good players from other local schools. That has slowed down a lot and it shows now. They are still good but without the best players from other schools they are not the same.

From what I have been told by people in the Asheville High community, it all starts with the administration. They don't have the support from the higher ups they once had. The weight program has gone to pot and so on.

We’ve always had our own players. Maybe get a good transfer every other year. But that’s it. Not every year. But our best players. Have always been our own.

We ( ACR, Asheville and Erwin ) have all had our share of transfers. Kids do it all the time for different reasons.
