I’m taking Burns in a mild upset!!
I mentioned on another thread but this series has produced some great games the last few years. It's a different spin being a conference game but its dogs vs dogs and burns it a close one on homecoming.

Wing-T this year. Getting better at it. Defensively, if you can run it, we're in trouble. I think it will be a great game.

This is not a good matchup for Burns. HH’s defense is loaded with talent and if Burns can’t pass it effectively enough to keep them off balance it will be extremely long night for the Dawgs. Huss also has big time playmakers at all of their wideout positions. Their qb can be inaccurate sometimes but when he does get it to them they are a handful to deal with. HH worst enemy can be themselves sometimes but I see them rolling in this one...

The real season starts Friday with 3 critical games ahead for Huss... that being Burns, Km, and Crest...execution minus penalties is a must...staying Hungry each game and absolutely taking nobody for granted...this is good football guys...that great time of year...I figure all the kinks have been addressed and everyone is who they are...Burns will be ready...they have no choice...I like seeing the wing T when it is executed well...i think the Huss defense will be ready also....I'm thinking on the low end scoring wise.. predicting Huss will get it done.. 21-14

I think we are really good this year...just trying not to put the cart in front of the horse or should I say the sled in front of the husky....excited is an understatement

If our defense can somehow step up and hold Huss to 28 or less, then i think we have a shot to win a shootout. Give up more than that and its another loss.

You haven't seen our defense yet. No way we hold you guys to 21.

Burns will need to pass the ball efficiently against HH. The Huskies have a stout defense and if the Bulldogs come out one dimensional they will get shutdown HH has a great defense.

Also HH has two db’s with SEC offers and four or five other guys on D who have either committed to D-1 schools or have offers from them. No one is going to consistently move the ball against them. You have to take your shots against them when you can and keep them off balance. The biggest thing is you have to be ready for their speed and physicality when you face them. This is the best D in the Big South by far.

If this is true...Hunter Huss should not have anyone scoring more than a TD on that defense, and theoretically should not lose a game the rest of the year...Hell, one would assume with that much talent Hunter Huss would have been a preseason favorite at either number one or number two in 3A...so I’m calling BS, unless these 4 or 5 guys are going to be 2nd or 3rd string players for the D-1 at a subdivision level or! Hunters Huss’s offense is nonexistent or! You don’t have a coach that can utilize the talent...basically, making such a bold statement (whether true or false) just sets Hunter Huss up in a lose, lose situation unless a state championship is won.

Dude everyone on these boards know that you are nothing but a hater, a kiss up, and that you know nothing about high school football outside of Crest. Heck you don’t even know anything about Crest football. If anyone gives any other school accolades you are always on here crying and whining about how they are not this or that. You are nothing but a bandwagon blowhard. You have absolutely zero knowledge about high school football anywhere let along NC. The only reason you trash HH and KM all the time is because both teams have beaten Crest the last couple of years. Everyone can see straight through you crybaby.

We all know the Crest 91 is extremely slow and possibly walks around everywhere with a bib and a plastic kid’s Crest football helmet on his head. Someone please explain to him how to open up the links, he still colors outside the lines in his coloring book...

LB Chase Williamson, Jaheim Mullen, and a few others also have a number of offers.

I am friends with one of the Coaches at HH. That number 44 is a grown man. I like this match up a little more for us because passing teams have not done as well against us like running teams have. That means nothing in the grand scheme of things. They are probably the most talented team we have played as far as skilled players. We have our work cut out for us but we can either lay down and call it a year or bust our butts and go for the upset.

I can respect that. HH can be undisciplined on offense sometimes and shoot themselves in the foot. There skill guys are explosive when they have the ball in their hands. Burns coach is a good coach so I am sure he will have a good game plan going in, you just cannot be one dimensional against their D. You have to keep their defense off balance because they bring it. Good luck.

Lmao. Sounds like I struck a nerve for such a strong response. If you’ll reread my post, slowly, the very first thing I wrote was “if this is true” I continued throughout the post writing “(whether true or false)” ...most common readers would take that as me declaring myself not knowing the facts...but I digress, I later mention in my post that (once again) if true, there must be a problem somewhere in the ranks of coaching, offense, or lack of talent, which as you can see in your above post I have highlighted in bold you admit lack of discipline on offense...so I’m confused about which part of my post you’re actually arguing with? Again, I acknowledged, I didn’t know if it was true or not...listed some possible reasons why Hunter Huss might be underachieving, you actually agreed with one of my reasons in a round about way lol...finally! I might be the dumbest person on these boards with my football knowledge, however, that still does not explain why Hunter Huss flew so far under the radar with all this talent until a couple weeks ago...I guess all the football experts messed that up too. But hey, if the huskies make it to the ship, I hope they bring it home, true statement.

The reason they were not on someone's preseason favorite is not because they're not good but because they haven't gotten a ring yet and these same ol reporters only cover these same ol traditional state perennials...any newcomers have to establish football excellence and consistency....Huss has been on a slow but steady rise for a couple years and they are still climbing program wise....like dogs on a food bowl you have to shove and fight to get your place in the pudding....these dogs with a great group of players this year are doing just that and I for one am very excited....being a Huss DT class of 84 I hope they kick the crap outta everyone....but they have to take it one game at a time....change is definitely coming.....

You didn’t strike a nerve you are just an idiot and we all see it. You roam from post to post and site to site putting teams down with your idiotic logic. You contradict yourself all the time. You are absolutely clueless and the worst part is that you don’t even realize it. You just talk to hear yourself talk. I am just calling you out on your b.s. Mr. I can tell you “if that was true” you have absolutely zero football knowledge.

A legitimate 1st qtr breakaway diveplay and a last second desperation 4th qtr 4th down hail Mary is the only reason Clover got 14....Huss was in the backfield all freaking nite if truth be told !

Right, okay, we get it, I’m a moron. But you did just agree in part with this moron that the offense is undisciplined sometimes...which again, was one of the reasons I listed as Hunter Huss underachieving.

They have been penalty prone I agree....one game this year I forget which it was but they had I'm guessing 15 false starts...hopefully that was early miscues and they got that worked out...other part is that they are really physical and hit hard..two personal fouls for unnecessary roughness that I thought were legitimate smashmouth but clean football hits.. I would not change their intensity one bit....

You are right, everyone just traditionally lean toward the more well known programs especially on these boards. Huss definitely has the talent to make a title run so everything else has to fall in place. Huss, KM, Statesville, Rock Hill South Pointe, all have really good young talent in their programs or entering their programs.

That Cox Mill kid threw prob 50 balls...loved their air attack...they lined up 4 and 5 wideouts....really gave our db's some early testing and training...we needed that to develop confidence in our pass defense..

Burns should have a really good young running back coming through soon. He is an 8th grader and a phenomenal athlete. Shelby is still churning out some good young players but not as many as past years. My opinion is that all of the youth travel basketball teams popping up in the Shelby area are impacting the football feeder systems.

This game will be like the East Rutherford game was for Burns... Close for a half, but Huss pulls away 42-20
