I think coming into this game most everyone would have said that Kings Mtn & Crest would have been the definite 1 & 2 teams in the county... But after the beat down Shelby just gave KM, they have been exposed... Crest is clearly the best team in the county, no debating that... But after Crest?.... I think it's:

Burns, Shelby, KM....

Yep, I Saud it, KM is 4th best in Cleveland County... Can't wait to see this thread

The jury is still out on where we stand because we have only played one of them. We have a Jekyll and Hyde team. Now with that said, we are 2-2. Our 2 wins are against teams that are a combined 5-3 (Hendersonville 3-1, Shelby 2-2) and our loses are to teams that are 8-0 (AC 4-0, ER 4-0). We have work to do but it’s going to be interesting to see how we match up against Crest and Km.

Crest offense doesn’t exist sometimes and that can be troublesome to a good defense! The early bad offense hurt the Charger defense in the Weddington game and could do the same in any game

I agree man. None of the 3 played an easy schedule at all. Sp, Shelby, Weddington, A Central, Hendersonville, Reynolds and East Rutherford. Combine those record and it will tell all. 21-7 record by my count.

Which was my original argument, KM could find themselves in the bottom right of the Big South very easely .. They just simply haven't prepared for it, unlikely the rest .

Once again I didn’t realize all teams haven’t only played 4 games. Some have played 5 and mine was from what I could remember. Didn’t even look it up. As of now, I agree. I think Crest is overall better than we are at this point. Km is a tough one.

You may be right, time will tell KM lost to SHELBY last year and did not lose again till the third round of the playoffs.This is a fairly young team after losing 9 starters off of last year team I know it hurts to lose any game but especially to a big rival hope this lose may actually help the team the rest of the year.

If this is Kings Mt best team ever then they are a sad sad bunch. This Shelby team is no where near what we've put on the field in the last 10 years. Defense is decent but probably at the moment the worst offensive team in memory. They are working hard and you can see improvement each game over the last two weeks. So hopefully it will gradually get better as the year goes on. The defense is only a big defensive tackle away from being pretty dang good.

Also for my money judging only the games Shelby played in Burns completely shut us down probably a little to do with Devine's inside knowledge of our offense. That number 8 they have is the only game changer I have seen so far this year. With that being said Crest will probably beat them as they are stronger up front on both sides of the ball. Crest offense just seems to be lacking something not sure what, the defense is solid, not great but solid. Shelby is still trying to learn to block and find a running game and an offense. Kings Mt, well other than the QB is just didn't see much and we moved the ball pretty well in the first half and a very lackluster offense. Now Shelby has improved each week from the Burns games which was a complete disaster and the worst I have seen Shelby look in many many years. Remember this is only my observation of when each team played Shelby not their total body of work. Just always remember Crest sucks, Kings Mt is a joke, and Burns well who cares they are only good every 5 or 6 years.

Being one of the most anti Shelby guys that I know, I bet this game was tearing you up inside as you were watching it, you were “hating” so hard, I bet, but you’re right, though. Opposing teams will have a hard time throwing on us, but Burns showed that we can be ran on, so did Crest, right up the middle, too. That's one reason why I am concerned about playing South Point, and East Rutherford later, their ability to run the ball straight at you.

Crestuff I agreed that KM seem to play into Shelby’s strength. The corner who is committed to James Madison is a very good player. I thought that KM would move Paysour around a little more formation wise. Also KM had success running Mack straight at Shelby with a lead blocker but got away from that. Oh well.

KM did have a little success but not much running on Shelby. The Mack kid is kind of slow getting to the line of scrimmage and looks like he's been eating a little to much over the summer.
