Let’s not forget about special teams for both sides. Could also be the difference in the ballgame. Should be getting your moneys worth tonight. Whoever makes fewer mistakes and wants it more will win.

Any update on our kicker? Is he injury free?

32-7 ER. 1:30 left in the third. ER has scored 4 touchdowns on 50+ yard runs. Right up the middle, untouched.
Piss poor defense and very predictable offense. Just being honest. Even when they threw the ball he was under pressure the entire time. Congrats to East. They are as good as their record. Hard to believe Burns played like that after last week. Jekyll and Hyde right now.

Cavs played great tonight don't know were that D came from but I liked it. Not trying to be controversial but does anybody still think shelby has more athlete's than east.

Feeling pretty disgusted right now. After 3 games it looks like any team that has a solid ground game is going to destroy us. Meanwhile we just keep running the same predictable plays on offense over and over and over. This east team gave up over 40 points the past two weeks in a row. Did we not watch any tape and take notes on what worked against them? Apparently not. No we will just keep running the same stuff over and over and over.

I’m with you davrly, I don’t think Shelby can match our weapons and overall team speed. I thought defense stepped up tonight. Great win for ER. Good luck to Burns rest of the year. Don’t get down about this one. Just get back at it on Monday. Hard work will pay off.

Defense looked great both halfs for both teams. I dont know what happened to Burns the first 3 minutes of the second half because it looked like 2 dive plays for points. That seemed to crush Burns spirit.

The lack of a passing threat hurt Burns too. After 10 or so plays, one could figure that if motion went to one side, the play would too.

Third quarter was the killer. Literally could not stop them. Five straight touchdowns.
And they were all up the middle. And I thought we should have mixed it up more on offense. Congratulations East. On to Hendersonville.

Just don't understand the offense. Why not spread it out? We were bad last year but we scored running the spread. We have qb to run it.

As matter of fact I still do. What I said was East had a better running back and a better running QB . That was the difference in the two games

Just speaking on the first 3 games. It looks as though, if you can run the ball, you're gonna score points against us. Never before have I seen so many 60+ yard touchdown runs right up the middle, untouched.

4 in a row. It was pathetic. Everyone knew it was coming.

ER had better athletes period. If they didnt decide to roll out and sling it 100x in the first half they could have made it worse before halftime. Our offense still isnt all that great. A few big plays against shelby doesnt constitute a well ran offense. At this point, they are better than Shelby Id say

Maybe we will let young Cam sling it. It looks like we have some good receivers.

The Cavs have a load weapons offensively. Can't key on just one player. Defense showed great improvement in this game. In fairness to the burns coaching staff the plays they were running were pretty much the same plays north Gaston and south Caldwell ran. The defense just stepped up and finally stopped it.

Again why isn't our offense that good? We have great skill players and a good Oline. My opinion, and that's all it is, too predictable.

Oline can't block 9 players especially when the defense knows it's coming between the tackles. Ok maybe not great skill players but really good skill players. Pryor, McDowell and Leslie are plenty good. Offense is way to predictable, run the spread!!

That is the truth! Our O Line is actually pretty good. I would take them over any in the county but when they know it’s coming they don’t block a 3-4 or 4-3. They block 9-10 players because they know it’s coming up the gut 90 percent of the time.

agreed w you and Dbomb.... got enough to keep teams from playing all run on us. OC needs to mix it up.

While I agree, I love the spread offense. But let's remember something too. This is a brand new offense we're trying to run this year. By no means am I comparing us to South Point, but they get 8 and 9 man boxes all of the time but they have no issues running it every year. There are things we can do in order to make our offense better the way it is. I highly doubt, we abandon the Wing-T and go to spread in the middle of the season. That's an offseason move.

I don’t even mind the Wing T. That’s old school and takes me back by all means but what bothers me is the simplicity with it. The idea is for the defense to play assignment football and we are not forcing their hand. When you run Hopper up the middle 2 times every three downs they tend to pick up on it. Getting outside hasn’t worked well but that is on the QB. Some of his pitches are risky. It needs work which new offenses do but it needs to be more unpredictable as well.

90% of the time Burns ran it. That's what we agree on. But let's talk about the other 10%. Did you see it? It was terrible. The QB didn't get the ball close to anyone other than one play down the sideline. It's easy to see why they ran it 90% of the time. The pass game is terrible!

I think they need to huddle up and come out in wing T or Spread. Give some options to make them defend. Don’t just throw it from the spread either. Hand the rock off some, run some jet. Keep them guessing. See now all I sound like the arm chair coach that I am. I can’t do the job and never have so who am I when it comes down to it. Just a fan, just a fan, drops a bomb here and there so don’t mind me.
