Burns at East Rutherford

Not having seen Burns this year I know they are tough as nails. They have been since the last 30+ years I’ve known about them. This game will probably be a high scoring shootout. ER needs to improve defensively in a big way along with special teams coverages. Too many yards are given up. Offensively, they have multiple weapons that can and will light up scoreboard. QB has lots of enthusiasm and keeps offensive unit fired up. Should be a great crowd on both sides Friday. I’m definitely looking forward to this one.
Not sure what type of offense ER runs... If it's the spread, Burns seems to be built to cover that well.. They kept Shelby's WR in check for the better part of the night last Friday... Burns appears to be much better defending a wide open spread iffense than they can defend against a team that can simply line up and run right at them...
It's very difficult for high school kids to gather themselves after a great win. I think Devine and coaching staff will preach all week that last Friday's win doesn't help them win this Friday. I actually think it will be a close game.
You guys please correct me if I’m wrong. I believe it was 2012 when Burns was at ER. Very close game with Burns winning in the end. I believe Burns won conference that year.
You are correct sir... East got the ball down to about the 25 or 30 yard line and stallled right at the end...
Always a great game. Oddest coaching move in the history of football in 2014 all east had to do was run out the clock but I instead chose to throw the ball ...we pick it off and get the win on the last play of the game

I will never forget that game was my son’s senior yearI’m going out on a limb and say that Burns D has not seen an offense like ER this year. Multiple weapons. Several talented skill people. But as we all know with this game, it starts up front with OL. They have to block. If OL can hold their blocks ER will move the ball.
While I agree East might not run the same offense as Alexander Central, I also would not venture to say that East has played a team as talented or disciplined as Alexander Central is this year. So I believe Burns can be beat by the calvqueers... but I think Burns will take care of business.
The AC team that beat Burns is a pretty good football team before I forget it. I think the key will be Burns being more physical than East. East has some good skills players but this is a tough one to pick so early in the year. I think Burns will want it more and that may be the difference.
The way I see it East has a better running back and a better running QB . Shelby QB is a better passer

I've heard that ER has the athletes but the line on both sides of the ball is very questionable. 90% run on offense. Take a few deep shots a game.
East has some good skill talent especially at running back. Their main back is very talented and has several FBS offers already.
Yep! Demetrius Mauney is a flat out stud, offensively and defensively. He will probably play Safety on the next level.

Sounds like a barn burner....Burns is on the radar watch and has my interest...
Burns definitely has potential this year and from a few people I've spoken with they are really young!
Not sure about most of the team but I know our QB is a sophomore and both running backs are juniors.
Is the QB the same that was the JV qb last year? I watched him at the scrimmage last year and thought he would be a great Qb
1 O-lineman is a senior, 1 wideout is a senior and 1 tightend that rotates in is a senior. Rest of the offense are juniors or sophomores.
That's the one. Although, it's a completely different offense than what you saw him play in.
This is a very interesting match up.. If Burns can grind the clock and limit possessions for ER, then we win playing our game. However if we get behind the sticks with a penalty or a busted play, then we could be playing catch up and that favors ER.

Supposedly, the ER line is weak on both sides. I feel like we have a good line on both sides of the ball. That's going to pay huge dividends.
I would say the Cavs O line has done their job or the Cavs wouldn't be putting up the points they do.The defense needs a lot of work they are giving up way to many points. I wouldn't be so sure that Shelby has as many or more skill players .And the QB is a pretty good passer when he needs to be.This should be a good test to see if both teams are for real or wanna be's
Let’s not forget about special teams for both sides. Could also be the difference in the ballgame. Should be getting your moneys worth tonight. Whoever makes fewer mistakes and wants it more will win.
