This one could go late in the night with all the passing. Hopefully Shelby can run the ball. Shelby seemed to run it pretty well against ACR last year and was never able to run the ball consistently again?? AC will come out fired up after the loss. As for the jamboree, I’m sure they weren’t showing much with all the other coaches there.

Your right Shelby must find some kind of running game Friday and for the rest of the year.AC will be fired up after Friday's loss and always plays Shelby well.The defense must play a complete game.
always good to play shelby. havent seen either team play this year but im expecting a good hard fought game.we should be fired up n ready after the loss friday. good luck to both teams and lets hope for an injury free game.
Burns ran it well on them and got us all hyped up just for the other AC to smack us in the mouth. Then Reynolds lost their opening game like we did so I have no clue what to think on this.
Nice litmus test for Reynolds. I think the talent may not quite compare to last season, but they are still very well coached. As the season wears on Reynolds will get better and better. I think Shelby should get the win, but get them early, because I don’t think anyone will want to see Reynolds in November.

True. At least it is not going to be lightening tonight. They get carried away with these lightening delays. I can understand it is close but use common sense. Last week at Mitchell we had one small flash from a storm at least 50 miles away and it was a 30 min delay. Last year at NB we had 3 delays and the game lasted almost till midnight.
I think AC Reynolds is overdue in this series. I predict 24-21 AC Reynolds in a huge win at home.

We were up 7-3 lines up to punt AC had like 13-14 players on field we snap it then fumble it and they run it back for td ! No penalty
We just scored and lead 14-10 but we have four turnovers and numerous penalties and can’t block a blitz to save our life! I’m betting AC has ten sacks

Partially blocked, no good......great game but sloppy is being kind.
I have never seen a team that pulls out more close games than Reynolds over the last 20 years. It’s absolutely incredible how many close games they win. Last week was an aberration but my God if they don’t find ways to win in the final moments

They did what they had to do and won the game no excuses and we can whine about the refs all night but hey don’t turn it over four times leading to ten of the 17 points and give up 8 sacks ! Hard to win with those kind of numbers ha
Long long way to go for this bunch but they’ll be ok ! It’s a learning experience

Shelby broadcast crew were not happy about a missed call on the AC Reynolds TD.
The AC Reynolds Crew were not happy about the large amount of missed holding calls and by the look of the sack total they had a reason to be mad. I know Burns ran it at ease on them but maybe they were sandbagging. Didn’t think ACR would keep it that close or win.
In the Burns scrimmage, the two leading tacklers didn’t play. #4 who led our team in tackles and sacks had Mono and didn’t play in any scrimmage.
Shelby line had trouble picking up blitz all night. And more false starts by both sides that I’ve seen in quite some time. Shelby Qb is tough kid was under pressure all night.
Old man Gentry down in Murphy might have something to say about that but there is no doubt that Reynolds is an excellently coached team. All that winning they do is no accident.
Yea Murphy is incredibly well coached too. They beat 2 Asheville teams years ago and didn’t have near the talent Asheville had.
The thing that is incredible to me about Reynolds is how good they are in close games. Like I said last week was an aberration, but Reynolds damn near wins every single close game and it’s been that way for years

wow it was a great game no doubt. lots of penalties and mistakes both ways.i think the difference in the game was shelbys not being able to run the ball. that enabled ac to just turn loose on the pass rush all night.shelbys qb is verry good and a really strong kid. he made some great throws with defenders all over him.just 2 pretty evenly matched teams looked like to me.refs missed several calls both ways no doubt.one huge call was the holding call against acr with around 6 minutes to go .very late flag after the play was over which led to the blocked punt. all in all though it was a great game. congrats to both teams on a hard fought and a very sportsmanlike attitude by both teams the whole game.
Rocket your exactly right about our running game. Last year we had a great running back who did so much on his on. This year will depend on if we can get anything going. Turnovers also hurt the Lions and I don’t believe the Rockets had any. Good luck the rest of the year and I really believe you have one the best QBs around.
Going to partially agree. 2001 Murphy had every bit the talent Asheville had, Dogs had two FCS skill players and that was one of Murphy's most talented teams in the last 25 years going into the season, but they had huge injury issues the whole year and couple kids transfer and quit before the season even started that derailed them from being truly great. 2002 I agree, Asheville way more talent. Murphy had no business keeping that game close from a talent stand point let alone winning. That 2002 win against Asheville is one of Gentrys best in my opinion from a talent gap point of view.
thanks there shs what happened with that back u had last year? i thought he was a sophomore he was outstanding. we couldnt stop him at all
Excellent game. AC Reynolds has NOT dropped off much from last year. They have a really good coaching staff and there is no one in Buncombe County within 20 points of that team including Asheville and Erwin. Shelby has a ton of athletes and is also well coached but ACR just doesn't give up and that is a huge credit to their staff. Other than losing some size on the OL and DL, ACR can bring it.
