What’s going to happen in this conference this year? Any surprises? Any transfers? Key Coaching additions or subtractions? Surprised no one has posted yet.

I will be SHOCKED if North Davidson doesn't repeat as CCC champs. The Black Knights are flat out loaded for 2018. They return something like 17 of their 22 starters from last year, 10 of their 11 defensive starters. Their first two games (Mount Tabor and Davie County) will be tough as nails, but I don't see any of the CCC teams having the firepower to stop the Black Knights. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am on this one.

1. North Davidson
2. Ledford
3. Salisbury
4. Thomasville
5. Lexington
6. East Davidson
7. Oak Grove
8. South Rowan
9. West Davidson
10. Central Davidson

North Davidson is loaded and will be a heavy favorite. Ledford has talent, but not as much as North save one athlete.

Thomasville is interesting, as is Salisbury. They battle it out for third imo. Lexington is always talented but always underachieve and lose games they shouldn't.

East Davidson has their coach back, and will be well schooled if out athleted most nights. That gives them a fighting chance.

Oak Grove will be young, very young. There will be growing pains, but the foundation is there for the future.

South Rowan can't get much worse. Same can be said for West and especially central.

Btw, based on student numbers central has no excuses. I know they're not ledford or North, but dang...

Saw in today’s paper that North has 101 players at practice. That in itself gives them a huge advantage. Not the only factor certainly, but it can’t hurt. I suspect a school like Thomasville won’t have much more than half that number.
Nut, I hope you’re right that the ‘Dogs will finish as high as third or fourth. There’s excitement in Thomasville for the first time in a few years, but we may have to be patient. Culture change isn’t always immediate.

BTW any of y'all Knight fans know the times of their scrimmages? I know they are at Parkland on August 8th and Grimsley on August 10th. It would seem to me they should want as many people to come as possible $$$ but not posting the scrimmage schedule makes some folks not attend!!

Why did kicker at Ledford leave? They probably will post scrimmage schedule with times a little closer in case any changes happen.

We’re not going to scrimmage Parkland it’s been changed. We have Alexander Central at our place on the 8th. JV is at 6. Varsity is at 7.

I really do wish the best to Thomasville barring one night lol. It may take the coach 2-3 years to install his system and philosophy, but I believe they are in good hands.

I do too, Nut. Gonna be a process. 45 players at practice. Need at least ten more. If the numbers remain the same, it will be a challenge to field a jv team. But there’s a good staff in place, good administration support, and community backing is slowly being rebuilt. We’ll get there.

Thomasville was going to Rockingham County, but not sure if it was affected by the weather. Up to 53 players, so that helps some. I know they’re working hard.
