I've done a bit of research, but not too much. Does anybody know who some of the top big name up-and-coming coaches are in the state?

Beau Williams from Jacksonville. Look at what he has done with the Cards. 0-11 first year to perennial playoff team in 4 years to one of the top 3A teams in the state.
The teams he has lost to:Now that just crazy man
2014- Mallard Creek (state champs)
2014- New Bern (state champs)
2016- Charlotte Chrisitan (runners up)
2016- Dudley (state champs)
Only one loss at home, that one being the Dudley loss in 2016.
Im sure he is a good coach but your don't have a school district. We have a swimmer that was approached at a state championship to come to CC..with help. 10 straight girls tennis championships just don't happen only if your have the 1.5 million charlotte Metro to recruit from...same in football.
Great first post. Several things wrong with this post.
1. We have never won 10 straight girls tennis titles. Now we did win 14 straight women's swimming titles if that is what you are referring to.
2. What does that have to do with swimming or football
3. Athletes do not get assistance from the school or diocese when it comes to tuition. Period.

There are several fallacies in your post. The Catholic recruits argument is beyond pathetic. Have you seen Catholic play? They are not that big or fast. If they recruit they should fire their lead recruiter.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean he will win. He earned all of his success. Most would crumble under the pressure of following Oddo.
That's a very good point, most would crumble or fail trying to make it their own program.. Hats off to him!!
What about Caleb King? Won at East Carteret and now at the helm at his alma mater Havelock.

First the staff that is there was also there with ODDO. They were part of the success for years.
Second they have improved dramatically on defense during the last four years.
I am sure Coach B felt a lot of pressure and the results speaks for themselves.
Scott Miller at S Iredell already has one state title and

Not 3A, but Greiner at Harding should be on this list as well. 1-10 record 3 years ago, now 11-1 and in the third round for first time since I think 1988.
Coach Miller is a class act great coach I think he went 43-4 his first 3 or 4 seasons with a state title and they are here every year great guy
