I am not worried about that one pats. It would be interesting if it is true but why would he want to leave where he is at?? How long would he be willing to stay if he did get the job. I personally want some one who will stay atleast stay 5-8 years. Its the first i have heard his name but I have heard a few other names and ive heard who alot of people around the community want as well. what are you hearing pats?
JBB is a long term coach.

Congratulations patsfball! Your Christmas miracle came early (just like a Freedom exit from the playoffs). Good luck in the future, hope the new coach fulfills all your dreams.

p.s. I couldn't resist that little jab in the 2nd sentence, it's meant in jest and I really wish you guys the best.

Well thank you jumbob, good to hear from you. I hear coach Allen found a home at N Buncombe, so maybe you can catch a game. His first stop there he was 1-10 as the HC.... hopefully this one goes better.

NB switched coaches? I know folks who have kids playing there and i haven't heard anything about a change.

yes. Unfortuante for the program. Restoration has begun, and basketball doing well doesn't hurt any!

English would be a very good choice for them and it would be a great move for him. West Caldwell has done well under him but looking at the JV and Middle School team, it would be a perfect time for him to get out of there. Not saying they are going back to winless teams but this group put him on the map. The groups following this group will not be as talented. Plus, when it boils down to it...Freedom is the best job around here by far. No job compares until you get to Asheville or Shelby. Def no job in the conference. It would be a great get for them and a perfect job for him. For those saying he wouldn't leave WC for Freedom, you're nuts.

Much respect for West Caldwell, but taking West job over Freedom would be like taking Chase job over Crest. I really don't think Chip is the next Freedom coach, but he would do well here.

I was in Hawaii with the Burke Bands when the news broke,I must say there were several silent fist bumps among the Freedom Marching Patriot parents because lets face it no butts in the stands,no 50/50 tickets sold for us.

I have refrained from posting to see what sticks fall out of the tree during the windy storm.Dreams do come true sometimes they are a little late for some but at the end of the day everything works out eventually.I hope Mr Allen finds success and happiness at new gig.To the Blackhawks, yall have a good man on staff.
This storm has been brewing from the day he was hired.Everyone was wondering about the move, but team was left with a difficult situation when Hardin left in June. His first interview with the News Herald he said that offense was gonna start very vanilla and evolve as the season progressed, unfortunately after 3 seasons, from my view it still was vanilla, not even exotic vanilla like the kind you get at the convenience store with the stick. However the talented group that Freedom has had during his time in Morganton has not hurt his w-l record at all. However I really dont think he had the belief and trust of the kids.It is my belief that to be a great coach you have to believe in your leadership.
With the current AD and leadership we will be able to tell what the want the football program to be going forward.I have questioned in my mind if the AD would be ok with the FB over shadowing the BB program......We shall see.No matter how you look at it football is the largest income of all the athletics, and you should always realize that and give it a fair shot.Either way, most certainly the very vanilla offense will at least get some strawberries added to it.
