Congrats to the Raiders. Great run through the West outscoring 4 opponent 172-6 to earn a trip to Wake Forest Grove Stadium for a rematch of last years championship game which resulted in a OT loss to Rocky Mount. RM wins a 2OT thriller by 1 point over Havelock. Let's get this party started.

I don't think SP will be as gracious as last year, basically giving that championship away. We remember and will respond accordingly.
RM is the luckiest team I've ever seen. Their luck has run out like a fancy girl's eye liner.

Some Red Raiders wanted Havelock as a State Championship opponent to register a win against a team who had won three out of the last five 3A championships. However, other Red Raider fans wanted a rematch against RM who they felt won the State Championship last year despite being the inferior team. The reality is we are facing RM. Batten down the hatches...SP is loaded for bear...AND WE WILL HAVE OUR REVENGE!

South Point's defense is an immovable object...seriously doubt Rocky Mount offense is an irresistible force. South Point defense crushes Rocky Mount like rock crushes scissors! The 3A title is coming home to Belmont where it should permanently reside...book it!

I'm just happy to see the raiders passing in the playoffs.....like they should have done last year.
Over the last 8 games, SP has outscored it opponents 392-15 and recorded 5 shutouts. That includes playoffs score of 172-6 with 3 shutouts against teams with combined record of 44-6. You can call it weak competition or whatever but that is an impressive stat. We really need to rid ourselves of the memory of that OT loss last year to RM by playing like Raiders next Saturday.
Raidersway, the list has not been updated since the end of the regular season. At that time, given that our conference schedule included the "powerhouses" of NG, LNC, and SC as our last three games, we probably didn't rate even an honorable mention. Since the playoffs began, she has taken the final poll (with no changes in the order) and provided the results of the each week's playoff games, not an updated poll. If we are not listed in the top 10 after next Saturday, you may have a legitimate complaint.
Here are the results of the teams ranked in the last regular season Baker's Dozen poll. An updated poll will be done after the 2016 State Championship games.
Been following HS football for many years and realize what a special gift we have that we can find some peace (or distraction) in watching these kids compete each year to get to these special games. I have been bantering for years with the likes of Crest, Concord, West Rowan, Shelby, etc., etc. At the end of the day, we love our own programs but we respect and appreciate the fact that all of you guys are only here because you love yours. Those of us who have enjoyed success and know what it means to be at Kenan, Groves, etc. to experience a championship game truly realize what this sport brings to us as individuals and to our schools and communities. I write this as I am at the half of the Army/Navy game which I have not watched in years. This games blows away Alabama/LSU, Ohio State/Michigan, or Florida State/Clemson. The passion on that field and in those stands is beyond comprehension. We are blessed and need to stop and realize exactly how blessed we are. Go Raiders and exact revenge on the Gryphons!
And I'll bet any amount to the Rocky Mount you kick the cat again next week and your wife puts you in the dog house after RM kicks your midgets in the arse

Come on down. With Wake Forest being as close as it is an already passionate Raider fan base will flock to Groves Stadium. With that said we hope to have support from many respected competitors representing the western region.
Be careful you may get caught up in the cult of Raidermania and never repent back to you native Rowan County.

Cold day in Belmont, so I ended up watching a lot of film, reviewing stats, and results. RM is obviously a very well coached team. You do not see this game two years in a row if you are not. RM's only two losses were to very good teams. One of which they got revenge in the playoffs. They lost a lot of key players from last years team, but returned some studs including 44, 31, 1, and the Battle kid whose number escapes me at the moment among others. One of the advantages that I saw last week over Hibriten was how they had not been battle tested. Other than the narrow win over Watauga, they had not had to overcome adversity. The first score by SP and ensuing safety was more than they had dealt with. Not the case with RM. I see an SP team that should win this game, but saw the same thing last year. If SP QB and supporting crew plays the game they played on Friday, I believe we win. At this time of the year, "A" game is the only thing that brings home the trophy. Let's build a new wing onto the school to display another state championship trophy in 2016.
We are still here but will be in Winston Salem this Saturday. While we are there winning, where will you be whining?

A Raider fan did cross that plain and amends are in place but outside that single incident you didn't hear anything from Raider fans that is any different than we hear from every fan based supporter on this site. Time for you to get over it.
Look at all the havoc at Havelock. They did not make the championship game because a coaches decision backfired ultimately leading to a defeat. His decision was one most of us would concur to be accurate at the time. With all the success at Havelock over the past 8-9 years many fans are calling for the coaches head. That is what fans do.
So when the gates open up at Groves Stadium in Winston Salem Saturday Raider fans will flock through those gates in mass numbers turning that venue into a home field advantage for the Raiders because we love our South Point Red Raider.

Those who came on message boards and the hundreds in the stands saying the same thing have that right. One thing that separates Red Raider fans from most other places around is the continuity and fervor with how they're followed. They aren't following only one coach, or just one player (if you are a REAL fan) - you are following the program which represents your community, school, family and friends.
Those who come in and are gone after their 3-4 years can stay gone...but those people are the exception not the rule.
