I've been a fan of Cleveland County Football my whole life, I really believe Cleveland County is one of the top 5 counties in North Carolina as far as football goes. I put together a spreadsheet that goes back to 2002, I have overall records, conference records, conference championships, inter-county records and playoff records.. Just thought some of you might find the information interesting.. I myself love keeping up with records... (And I only went back to 2002 because that's as far back as I could find reliable information for all four schools)

Burns:
Overall Record: 123-64
Conference Games Record: 64-27
Inter-County Games Record: 18-26
Playoff Record: 18-11
Conference Championships: 3 (2010, 2011, 2012)
State Championships: 0
Best Season Record: 13-2 (2011)
Worst Season Record: 1-10 (2008)

Crest:
Overall Record: 160-42
Conference Games Record: 78-17
Inter-County Games Record: 36-7
Playoff Record: 42-9
Conference Championships: 6 (2002, 2003, 2004, 2013, 2014, 2015)
State Championships: 4 (2003, 2004, 2014, 2015)
Best Season Record: 16-0 (2014, 2015)
Worst Season Record: 6-5 (2005)

Kings Mountain:
Overall Record: 83-94
Conference Games Record: 44-48
Inter-County Games Record: 7-37
Playoff Record: 7-8
Conference Championships: 1 (2008)
State Championships: 0
Best Season Record: 12-3 (2015)
Worst Season Record: 2-9 (2013)

Shelby:
Overall Record: 173-46
Conference Games Record: 82-14
Inter-County Games Record: 27-17
Playoff Record: 47-9
Conference Championships: 5 (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2009)
State Championships: 5 (2005, 2006, 2013, 2014, 2015)
Best Season Record: 16-0 (2006)
Worst Season Record: 8-6 (2012)

A few notes additional notes/stats:
Crest has won 9 County Championships, Shelby has won 2 County Championships, Burns has won 1 County Championship and Kings Mountain has no County Championships. **Only counting outright County Championships (3-0).

Burns, Crest and Shelby all have winning overall records, conference records and playoff records since 2002.

Shelby hasn't won a conference championship since 2009 (That blew me away)

Crest has only lost 7 Inter-County games since 2002.

Hope you guys enjoy these stats, took me a while to put it all together in a spreadsheet!

Could someone come up with a spreadsheet showing how many CC losses were at the hands of the Patriots... I got tired counting.

Notanyonesfan where did you go to school ? I think you lean toward the Dogs in cc . :)

I live in Cleveland County now, and have for years.. But I didn't go to high school around here.. Actually grew up and went to high school in Alabama.. Moved here about 13 years ago.. I don't lean toward any one CC school more so than the other, I've just grown to love and respect the football played in this county

Who am I to talk. Switched to a Mac two years ago and still can't do anything. Still living in XP land on the laptop. Still got those football items. You need to come to the Crest beat down and I will deliver them.

That's crazy that Shelby has won more state championships then county championships since 2002. Also that they have won 3 state championships since winning a conference championship. It's crazy.

This guy...here you go.
(1989) Kannapolis (A.L. Brown) (0-3-0)

You got us first in the '89 Western Finals 21-14.
You caught us at coaching change and the implementation of a new offense the last two times, '11 and '12. No way that happens now....you know it too.

That's not one that I recall we were supposed to win handedly. We had lost Moss, Key, and Wray to graduation from the previous team. I do recall that the officiating was horrendous as well.

They were a mountain team and when you say that to the majority of fans down here they all say just don't have the athletes to match up.

That was probably the best madison team ive seen thru the years. I remember the one lose to Brevard was at brevard shelby jumped out 21-0 then brevard decided to run there (fullback) slash rb (johnthan elliott) may have been last time i seen a shelby defense get man handle. Was also the last good brevard team been pretty bad since.

Thought he said he moved there around that time.
That time frame also happens to be the best time period to measure wins and losses for Burns football in their history. Maybe just a coincidence but I like apples to apples comparisons if you want to truly compare schools. There are plenty of places that you can pull data from. Personally I like to use the year 1967 when Crest and Burns both came on line when comparing county schools. You also can use overall but those records or skewed somewhat. You can also use a decade by decade comparison if you want to break it down further. Or you can have each team pick their "best" 15yr time period for comparison. I am sure you get the point that I am making...

Get the point I am making. The guy that did it told on himself by using the year he graduated. He also said he had been a CC fan his entire life but moved here in 2002. He also got quiet when I called him who he is. Bulldawgfan#1 Nice try sparky. My son graduated in 2003. Now that was a good team. My son used the name MaddogPride. He got too personal on here and I told him to let daddy handle this from now on. lol He will be quite livid when he reads this.

This is the problem with these boards. A guy spends a couple hours throwing together some data and gets criticized for his selection of years. Like c'mon. It may be biased but don't mock him for it. That's just immature.

Don't mock someone for being bias on these boards? Umm okay lol. Let me know how that works out for you here. Personally I wasn't mocking anyone. As for you being so sensitive and all up in your feelings about what you thought was implied to someone else is me mocking you. Yeah that's my immaturity showing :).
