Can't call it a Bakers Dozen when you have 14 teams. I am no Tuscola fan but it is obvious that they are one of the top teams in the West. How can there be 8 spots between Pisgah and Tuscola when they went into OT at Pisgah? A #5 should be at least two scores better than a#14.
In all actuality both teams should have fallen a few spots not just Tuscola. Both teams struggled.
SPC Teams like JM Robinson would beat half the teams on this list.

Especially since Pisgah barely beat a down Asheville team at home. These two teams still have not played anyone that is good. This will show up when we hit the playoffs.

A 3a Bakers Dozen Post wouldn't be complete without you complaining about how the SPC and/or West Rowan is underrated. :p

I am not saying they are not good. I am just saying there is not that big a difference between them. You don't win 8 games being a bad team, I don't think either are claiming to the best. All they can do is win the games they play each Friday. I do think they along with Hibriten are a little over rated, but you can't argue with winning.

I'm just poking fun at you. I agree that some of these far West teams might be overrated. It's hard to tell though with Hibriten. They are winning convincingly but they've never really been a huge power in recent years. It'll be interesting to see how they do in the playoffs. I know the SPC gave that unrealistic Crest a lot of trouble in playoffs last year. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them make some noise in playoffs if they are about the same as last year. Especially with SP and Crest having down years.

I love it! I just have to stir things up. Seems like the only ones on these posts are from the mountains or Cleveland County. I got to at least aggravate them. It's all in fun.
I don't know how good my Falcons are yet but if we can go to Concord and win on Friday night I think we may be a small 3 A contender.

I am not so sure that Crest and South Point are having off years. I think Both have played a very tuff schedule. I would not want to play either team in the playoffs. I think you will see both of these surprise some people.

I watched Crest play against KM. That game was horrible. Crest defense is still really good but I don't see that team as championship or deep run material. That offense is subpar to say the least. Crest will probably finish 4th in Cleveland County this year. Crest making a deep run is very matchup dependednt in my opinion. They have to face teams with a weak defense line that are also turnover prone on offense. That's my analysis from watching the 1st half of one game. Correct me if I'm wrong angry mob of Crest fans.

"They are winning convincingly"I guess if you consider the 28-27 win at Watauga convincingly.

I think 3A is wide open in the West this year. I think there are about 6 teams that could get on a role and go to states. Just depends who shows up on Friday nights

I' waiting to see what West Rowan does with Concord. They beat Concord, they should be a west contender. Sun Valley might be a team to watch that gets no press here. That QB for SV is good and they have played tough this year. Anybody know what side of the state they may go to? Little or big 3A?

Better than taking overtime versus Tuscola. Also, they have a 49-20 victory over a Maiden team that is at least a respectable team. All of Pigsah's respectable opponents have been within a score. Like c'mon beating Asheville by 3 and Franklin by 6. I know they are traditional powerhouses but they are down this year. Put teams away like that and you'll have my respect. Of course playoffs is all that matters but it's fun to debate who is best pre-playoffs.

It's going to be chaos. Just about anyone can come out of the west. It's going to be amazing trying to predict those games and watch them too.

Havelock, West Craven, Western Alamance, Rocky Mount, and Southern Nash will all compete in the East as well.

Havelock will probably have locked in their championship tickets already. It seems like they are there every single year. I would love to see two different teams this year for a little variety.

No offense Patsfball fan, but with your leader you couldn't win a playoff game with UNC's team. Guy took App State's starting TE and didn't score a TD with him his whole senoir season and then took a RB in the rotation at Bama as a Freshmen and never won a playoff game with him. You are pretty much screwed buddy. Not trying to be an ***, but glad it is your problem now and not Tuscola's. Best wishes buddy.

I've seen a lot of 8-0 teams.
I've seen crest be 8-0.
I've seen tc Roberson be 8-0
I've seen ac Reynolds be 8-0
I've seen tuscola be 8-0.
I've seen Erwin be 8-0
I've seen multiple Asheville teams sitting at 8-0.

This pisgah team is the least talented 8-0 team I've ever seen.
My current Asheville Cougars team literally has the worst team we have had since the 1987 season and pisgah beat us by 3 at home.
I don't know what 3A has this year but it doesn't surprise me that pisgah hasn't gotten much love from the AP poll and just recently got some love in this one.

It's pretty hard watching a team that should be contending for a title struggling to beat mediocre programs. Furthermore, to blame it on rebuilding and inexperience is absurd. I have never seen anyone devalue the qb position like we have the past 3 years. The QB is a field general, but not here, any lineman, RB, or TE can play it, and do!

Looks like Crest will be a wildcard seed in upcoming playoffs. i would love to travel up the mountains and play either Pisgah or Tuscola at their place. Sounds like an exciting place to play. Plus, Crest fans travel well and we bring our best (loudest) fans on the road.

Solid analysis here.

Crest defense playing very well, with even some room for improvement as players return to health.

Any kind of playoff success (even a first-round win) will depend upon getting some consistent offensive play. It's just been tough going for those guys.

The playoff matchups will be key, for sure. It would certainly be fun to travel up the mountains to Haywood County.

That I agree with. Mountain teams make up for the lack of speed and athleticism by their toughness and will to win. Talent wise, they're usually not close to the good "flat land" teams, but they seem to play harder. The coaching staffs do a good job to teach discipline and fundamental football, and sometimes that's the recipe for an upset.

Eating crow tonight. West Rowan blows a 9 point 3rd quarter lead and loses to Concord 41 -32. We deserve to be where we were and now a little lower. Too many blown coverages on defense and we missed to many wide open receivers on offense. 3 missed extra points and gave up a safety that really turned the tide of the game. I hate getting beat especially when we should have won. Concord did a great job.

Eastern Guilford and Weddington both with big wins. Anyone know if Eastern Guilford is small or big?
