West wins the Concord game and they may be a top three west 3A team. Over looked in the polls for sure.
I honestly already think we are one of the top 3 in the West, but you are right. A win at Concord with a JM Robinson and a good 4A Mooresville win already under our belts I don't see many any better especially in small 3A. No one plays our schedule. Our only loss is to a powerful 4A Davie County.
The thing about this team is that they are very mature. They are very heavy with senior players. They are focused. Practices go like clock work. There are no attitude problems. There is no joking around or playing games at practice or before games. Heck, the coach has to get onto them for not enjoying a win. The last few games you would have thought they lost. They believe they are on a mission. I think West Rowan has a lot of confidence going into Concord this week. The defense is very good. We have no starters out on injury now, and we pray it stays that way. Our offense is getting better each week with a young and smaller than usual O-Line. We are very balanced. We are averaging around 175 yards rushing and passing each week. No player plays both ways. Coaching and play calling has been excellent this year.
Our weakness is special teams. Our return games and extra point team is very good. However we can't punt the ball hardly 20 yards and we have had two blocked for TDs this year. We have had 2 safeties on bad snaps along with a host of shanks and near catastrophes. Our kick off game always pooch kicks and we give other teams starting position around the 35 or worse at times. These have to be fixed or it will haunt us in the future.
