My picks..

Reynolds 28 Asheville 24....Reynolds is coming off a huge comeback win over Erwin and probably drained from a tough schedule. Asheville is a little down this season but capable of beating any team in the conference on any given night. Should be another good one.

McDowell 35 NB 14...McDowell seems to be good enough to beat bad team teams but no chance vs good ones. This will certainly be NB last chance at a win.

Erwin 65 Enka 21....The Warriors lost a heartbreaker to Reynolds last Friday were the pretty much dominated 3 1/2 qtrs but come up short. This will be their first easy game all season after a grueling early schedule. Bad night to be Enka!

Okay here are my picks.....

AC Reynolds 35
Asheville 31
This game will be a dog fight, Asheville and ACR always battle it out no matter the records. I honestly don't believe Asheville is a bad as the fans and others are letting on, they have speed and talent. ACR is coming off a very emotional game, but they know this one could clinch at least a tie for the Conference and a "ball on the wall" in their locker room, that means a lot to all players at ACR. Should be a great one again!

McDowell 41
North Buncombe 14
Winless season for NB looks unavoidable, and McDowell will enjoy this game.

Erwin 76
Enka 10
Erwin takes out weeks of frustration on lowly Enka, not a great night to be a Jet fan, this has record books written all over it for Erwin!

It will never happen with Coach Sexton at Erwin. Some of the teams he had over the years with the Brown brothers could have easily dropped 80+ on teams but he has way too much class for that. I think they have a rule where there is a running clock now as well. I remember Polk County scoring over 90 on someone a few years ago. The coach caught hell over that.

In 2014 we were up 35-0 against Polk at halftime and then 42-7 before taking out every single starter until Polk cut it to 42-28 late in the 4th quarter because they were throwing it deep on our 8th string with their starters still in the entire game. Then the head coach talked about in his post game interview how we didn't take out any starters and how proud he was of his team for battling back. As a matter of fact we put jave jones back in with 2 mins left to score a td and get got hurt because he hadn't played the entire second half. Probably the same coach.

Pisgah beat Enks 84-16 back in the seventies in the play-offs.
According to the NCHSAA the most points scored in one game was Windsor 142 points &Creswell 0 in 1930
I was wrong on the Pisgah Enka score it was 86-16 and the jets were ahead 16-0 in first quarter.That was in 71 and still a record for the Bears.

Goes to show you how much things have changed the last 86 years. Can you imagine if you beat someone by 142 points in a high school game in 2016? The coach, principal and superintendent would be fired immediately and all the players would need "safe spaces" to deal with the emotional trauma.

In 1930 I doubt if anyone besides those two teams and the few that attended even knew about it.Still it's hard to understand how you could score that many points in 48 minutes.Maybe the games lasted longer back then.

Erwin did this a lot as well a few years ago. It would be like 48-0 and they pull the starters and the game end up being 55 to 21 or something

Erwin 41 Enka 14...halftime. Isaiah Poore has 4 td already. Why did it take 2 1/2 years for Erwin coaches to figure out this kid needs the ball..if we have a running game our offense is about unstoppable.

Our offense is pretty terrible. Qb takes sacks and when he does hit somebody, they drop it

Ya'll cheated and the refs were terrible. Every time we move just a little bit before the ball is snapped on offense they throw a flag on us. If you look closely at the game film tomorrow you'll clearly see the refs putting Vaseline on the ball before we try every pass play. I hope you people enjoy your MAC championship, you cheater mc'cheaters.

ps: your uniforms still remind me of walking boogers.

We just arent that good. These guys will play hard, but if your team doesnt have talent, you arent going to be good. We have Brewer and Leota that stand out, but other than that we just dont seem to have anybody making plays. This team isnt good in the spread and we probably wouldnt be good in the power I. We just dont have it this year. The qb holds onto the ball for an eternity, if he has an open guy, he cant hit him and if he does make a good throw, the receivers drop it. Our running game is non existent because we have a middle school sized RB that for some reason we insist on running up the middle as if he is Jave Jones Crezdon Butler Johnny White Michael Byrd Thaddeus Boyce Tyrus Knox Tysean Holloway or Reggie Battle and hes not. At this point I wouldnt mind seeing Brewer or Campbell just get in the wildcat and run some sort of option plays with jet sweeps back and forth. What the hell is it gonna hurt? This team is going to be the worst team since the 1980s and thats a fact. Reynolds has a pretty good team but I dont think they are even close to as good as they were last year. I know we lost so I dont have much room to talk, but they didnt really impress me that much either. They were clearly better than us, but we were in it for most of the game. In our first 3 plays, we had 2 turnovers. Our first offensive snap we snap the ball into our own endzone and our senior qb couldnt even just dive on it properly. That really just sums up our season perfectly. A bad snap that we cant even jump on that gives a touchdown to the other team.
Jeez, its hard to watch.

from my view of asheville the best thing they could do is to move the qb to running back . hes a hard runner . and id move leota to middle linebacker. hes not that much of a factor at defensive end in my opinion. the game was competetive and fun to watch. congrats to the rockets.our defense played better .

Asheville's defense played great considering they were on the field for 90 percent of the game. The offense was just plain embarrassing. The QB play was horrible! He's scared to death and slow and you think he should be a rb! That's the funniest thing I think I have ever seen wrote on here! Asheville has to find a way to get Brewer and Campbell the ball more. The running back plays hard but please stop giving him the ball more than the best players you have on offense get the ball combined. I don't understand why the coaches continue to give him the ball this much as if he's the best player on the field. Move Campbell to rb or something! The only difference in those two teams are the QB play and our rb is tiny and the Asheville coaches want to pound him between the tackles. You might be right about Leota. As many flags as the refs threw on both teams (they should be embarrassed) they could have thrown a flag on Reynolds every play because they would just grab Leota by his shirt just about every single down!

Leota was at MLB to start the season, just didn't work out.
