We'll since no one had posted about it I'll bite. This will be another big conference game in deciding who wins the conference. In my opinion these are the two best programs in WNC. I know the SMC guys would argue that but winning championships in 1A and 3A is not comparable. Asheville is supposedly down but they are still a threat. They beat a always athletic Carver team handily and all their other losses are to good teams. Reynolds is coming off a huge comeback win over Erwin and could wrap up the conference with a win Friday. I am pulling for Asheville so my Warriors have a chance at a title but I think Reynolds pulls this one out in a close one. What you guys think.

Reynolds has the better team this year, but sometimes the better team doesn't win in this series.

Here is a scenario, although unlikely....what happens if Asheville were to beat Reynolds and then Erwin beat Asheville? A 3 way tie for first but how the hell would the playoff seedings work?

Im guessing they would draw the seedings out of a hat.

Don't forget NONE of the three teams has beaten TCR yet, they are not to be overlooked! They will have a say so in this conference championship in my opinion. They are no longer a gimme.

I agree. Roberson is a threat now. I was wondering about the seeding as well. If Erwin and Reynolds ended up with one loss each I assume the Rockets get the higher seed. Would it still be a co championship though

If it's a two way tie with ACR and Erwin it would be a Co-Conference Championship, however ACR would get the #1 seed in the playoffs from the MAC because of the head to head tie breaker.

I could see TCR beating one or two of the three, but I don't see them beating all three since they have to play them back to back to back weeks, and two of them on the road.

asheville vs reynolds is always a hard game. and i agree the better team doesnt always win this game.im picking acr 34 asheville21 in another tight game. i also agree that tcr is going to be as tough as any of the big 3.

TC has beat no one! The big 3 would have the same record or better if they played the same schedule. Now yeah they could beat Asheville this year but no way they come close to Erwin or Reynolds!!!

I dont feel confident in this game at all. Yea we could win, but its not very likely. We have a weird team and have a couple bad losses already. This is the only team I can ever remember at Asheville high where we didnt have a stud RB. I hate to be so blunt but Asheville has been Runningback U since 2000 and we CLEARLY have an issue there. Andrew Leota, will be the best player on the field in every regular season game we play, and last week he played great, albeit against a 1-3 team. Our defense has been pretty pathetic this year, but unlike last year, we just dont have alot of talent.
Thats really the bottom line, our talent is not what is usually is and is without question the least talented roster weve had in the 21st century. These guys will play hard and do in fact have a chance to beat anybody in WNC on a given night, but everything seems to be a struggle. I do not blame the offensive scheme though. This team has to be in the spread. I dont put any blame on the new offense for our struggle. This team would be 0-11 if we were in the power I with no natural fb, a qb who cant run and a 5 foot 3 130 pound runningback running between the tackles 33 times a game. I will say though, at least this team plays hard. Last year we were as talented as anybody and we were a joke because our players were more worried about facebook and their wristbands than playing hard. I dont feel that way about this team. We need a good quality win and as I said, sometimes the less talented team wins this game. Can we beat Reynolds? Of course we can, but I bet Vegas would have us a 14 point underdog.

It's weird seeing the qb from Roberson because his dad is a principal at Erwin and head coach of the girls basketball team.

He will probably be at Erwin next year when Ferguson graduates.

I don't know if he can. Don't you have to sit out a year if you transfer within the county. I know it doesn't apply to Asheville, but I thought everyone else had to abide by that rule.

I don't know what the rule is in that situation, especially if your father works at the school you are transferring to. Maybe someone who knows the rules can help us out.

Will not be an issue. Happens all the time. Its a legit move when staff bring their kids to the school they work at. Never seen a mid have to sit for that transfer.

I've spent the better part of his week researching YouTube trying to predict the outcome of this game. Of the thousands and thousands of videos I have watched, not once did I see a rocket defeat a cougar. Haven't seen a jet, ram or black hawk do it either. The only thing I saw kill a cougar was a bulldog (which is fine cause we don't play Murphy) and hunter (which technically could be a warrior).

My prediction: Asheville 30 - Reynolds 28

Man you have WAY too much time on your hands if you watched thousands of videos! Did you see any Bears, Cavaliers, or Red Devils defeating a cougar in those videos?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I was just playing around I know Asheville will be a very tough game, I wouldn't expect anything less from their kids.

There ya go BD, your QB for next year is all set! ;)

I like the kid we have on JV though. He is a Freshman and a little raw but he is already pushing 6' 3" and has a good arm. Damien Ferguson didn't look that good that stage either so I think he will be a good one once the coaching staff works with him more..

Dang, 6'3" freshman QB? Most programs would love to have a kid like that to develop. That's a D1 body. If the skills progress in your pass happy program we could see him develop into a big time player.

I hope so but he is very raw and needs to put on a lot of weight. I see potential though.

Nope. But that did get me to thinking. If you named your football team the "nuclear bombs" or "wrath of God" you could literally never lose a game. :)

Asheville has 2 turnovers in their first 3 plays and has 3-4 penalties in the first 5 mins of the game.
