I have been thoroughly disgusted by what is happening with a few players in the NFL disrespecting our great nation and flag the last few weeks. It started with that punk back up Kapernick and on national tv last night Brandon Marshall goes to a knee while this beautiful young lady is singing the national anthem. I just wonder how long it will be till high school kids try this crap. There are a lot of kids that look up to those clowns and I see it coming. I know this is a football board but this is football related and I really hate to see our veterans and anthem crapped on by these guys. Ok, rant over. What is your take on it?

There will be a high school football coach somewhere around the country that gets fired because they have "no tolerance" for it. The coach will sit a player because they disrespected the flag by kneeling. The parents will get angry and take it to the school board and boom......coach fired. Mark my words.
I know at our home games and even away games we rarely come out of locker room prior to the National Anthem, not because of disrespect but because typically it's played well before kickoff, meaning 5-10 minutes and our coaches don't like to be out that early. I don't think it will be an issue at ACR, I could be wrong, but they rarely hear the Anthem. I do know when it is played and our players are out the coach makes sure everyone respects it!
I agree, it's only a matter of time before some kid follows that loser kaepernick and sits during the national anthem because they think it's cool.

I have no clue what race the other posters are but we are all AMERICANS and should thank God we live in such a great country!
As a parent, my high school kid wouldn't see the field again if he disrespected our country, and our civil liberties in such a way. Playing a sport is a privilege, not a right. This privilege is one that would be quickly revoked. Priorities would be completely reset. I understand Kaepernick's disappointment and disgust with oppression, but refusing to stand for the National Anthem isn't the answer. Making a statement is one thing. Blatantly dishonoring the country that affords you the freedom to live your life of wealth while families lose loved ones putting their lives on the line for you, is as disgusting as the reason he claims he needed to take a stand. (or "sit" in this case. LOL) Our high school team would be sans a QB if my kid decided to follow suit. I would totally pull the Mom card.

For me, it has nothing to do with white or black, female or male. I used to like Megan Rapinoe (female US soccer player) until she tried to pull the same stunt this week. Now I have no respect for her. Name another country on God's planet that Kaepernick or Rapinoe could have the success their having right now in. There's not one. They are more blessed and fortunate than 99% of Americans. They need to be grateful for this country and our flag. They can say they don't mean to put down our military all they want, but if it weren't for our military, we wouldn't be The United States of America. Who knows what we'd be or if any of us would even be here right now. If they have issues, go at it a different way. The stuff their doing stirs things up worse. It makes most Americans furious and divides us even more. I'm all for freedom of speech, but it needs to be conducted in a better manor than these two are showing.

Lol well as a guy with black and white parents and who has a BS degree in Business administration and who has been disrespected by law enforcement many times in my life (still in my 20s). I completely understand Kap and many others. No i don't share the same rights and freedoms as my causican contemporaries. My college roommate (white) called a officer a pig and told him he wasn't going anywhere and he can kiss his butt. Guess what happened to him. Nada. I asked a officer why was I pulled over. He pulled out his gun point it at me and told me to shut the **** up before I get lead posion. You never experience what most black men have. So no the flag don't represent freedom and justice for all to many ppl. Smh.

They are just racist that's all if they don't see the bs that happens in this country... But I'm not saying all those black people were innocent either arguing with a cop is just stupid. Most the time if you do what they say they are pretty chill. In other cases tho some cops do become agressive for no reason just because they have a badge and those are the cops that are being protested.

The fact is, you accused posters whom you don't know, of harboring bigoted views of Kaepernick.
I'm sure it will happen at some locations but I feel like it won't gain much traction. People are focused on pros and high level college kids and not so much a mid week game in the Sandhills 2A of NC.
