Matt Beam is a great football coach and great motivator !!! The man won at North Lincoln come on we are talking the pumpkin center pride for you Lincolntoners who know the area. I will say this again if beam has the 2014 and 2015 two years earlier he may already have a ring or two!! And all you AC Reynolds rockets fans posting worry about The 3x defending state champions Golden lions of Shelby. The Rockets my be the next victim of 49-0 smacking !!!!

He probably, not sayin he did but prob saw the Tallent pool was shrinking fast and that nothing promising was coming up from middle school and JV team. After he left, it prob wouldn't have mattered if Bill Belichek(or however you spell it) took over, it got ugly. All losing seasons except maybe 1 or 2.

Not happy I'm picking against NC huh, well this thread is about that game so I offered my opinion, doesn't mean you have to agree, but I'm entitled. As for my team, if you notice on other threads where we pick the MAC scores, I picked against my team, I understand when we play a good team we might not win, but some people don't see anything but their teams.
Well some people are saying "this game wont be close, Asheville will dominate Newton Conover who was picked to finish 5th in their conference" while others are saying "this will be a nail biter because this might be the best team head coach Matt Beam has ever had". Somebody is going to be very wrong. Whatever happens, Newton Conovers players and fans wont see another stadium like the one they are going to see in less than 24 hours the rest of the season.

Adding Coach Harvel to the staff should help the Red Devil program. Just playing kids based on size has hurt the program. Low turnout has also hurt but it has brought on lots of state titles in other sports. Newton needs to turn the defensive effort around. What N-C does on defense at Asheville will be an indicator of what happens in the SD7 conference games.

You know patsfball each year when you make your 2-3 comments about Asheville being gay, the bible, Adam and Eve etc it really just brings a smile and such joy to my heart knowing you guys got your asses kicked 4 consecutive years on our field and yours from 2005-2008. I mean you guys not only lost to our state championship team by double digits, you also got to lose to teams we had that WERENT good. I heard they were rounding up all the people in Morganton who had AT LEAST half a brain and no one could be found. I would love to have a battle of wits with patsfball but it is obvious to everyone he came unarmed.
Getting ready for the drive up I40 and watch some Red Devil football. Was there last year for the JV game, Asheville has a very nice stadium. Also went to last night's JV game, hopefully there will be a similar outcome tonight as there was last night. It is obvious NC has some good young talent, tonight will test to see how far along these kids are. I do know this though, when the 6 or 7 sophomores that start for NC tonight combine with what the JV team fielded last night, good things could happen.
That's a lot of sophomores to start for varsity. Things could be good the next couple years
