I ran across this link this morning. SMAC All Conference Team released. I guess the Shelby Star has been so busy writing state championship articles they haven't had time to get around to the conference accolades. Great problem to have.

For Crest and Shelby fans, pertinent info is near the end of the article. Full 49 member all conference team not included in the article.

Will Clark (Crest) Coach of the Year. Aaron Ramseur (Crest) Defensive Player of the Year. Evan Davis (Crest) Kicker of the Year. Darquez Lee (Shelby) Offensive Player of the Year.

Congratulations to these folks!

How does Tom Brown of East Burke not get coach of the year ? I mean obviously Clark did a great job managing the talent he had but Crest was loaded. EB came out of nowhere this year.

Because he is an *** and said Cleveland County recruits on live television in front of an audience of thousands with absolutely no evidence to back it up. He should have to pay for that comment. During the days of Independence's recruiting, you never heard Delano ever make one comment suggesting that and Brown get's on there and makes the statement he does. So we were up 55-6 at halftime...sorry.

Coach of the year should be body of work and not who won the conference. Tom Brown took a turd and made it a diamond. That's what the man does. Unfortunately he is a hard man to like if you have not spent enough time with him. He comes off as short and direct. Likable and Tom Brown usually are not in the same sentence.

That's exactly what he said and it pushes the envelope but states a fact. He's not one of my favorite people and can polarize people,but the man can coach!

Yeah I was watching it.....

They were talking about teams and the cyclical nature of title contenders.... Tom Brown said teams like Albemarle, Cummings, Independence and such went several years in a row... Then Delano mentions Crest and Shelby seemingly going a lot or every year.... Tom pointed at Coach Lloyd and said "Yeah and we have to play them every year" and " And we don't get the transfers they get" Even Coach Lloyd smacked him on the leg on that one.... LOL...

My main point was to point out that you were either misspoken, or you intentionally meant to slander him...you can choose, because I don't want to imply what your intentions were. The man said nothing factually untrue. Shelby and Crest both have strong tradition, good coaching, they have good players, and they both benefit from transfers.....That's hard to compete with.

IMO that's what I heard he was "implying"

Do you have Macks phone number? I kid i kid lol. Do these dumba$$ people actually think that crest or shelby actually recruit these kids. The fact is the kids want to play for a winner with a chance at a ring. It also could mean a chance for them to get looked at for scholarships. I dont blame the kids or parents at all. If all these schools that lose good players to transfering would get off their butts and support their schools and the team then maybe they could build a program that people could be proud of. Im tired of hearing about transfers. It aint crest or shelby recruiting these kids, they are coming to them.

Yes, they actually think that. I thought that old man was classic whine.

I wish he'd talked about that Maiden team he brought to Shelby a few years ago, when he had them dog pile on Shelby's field. He should have explained how that worked out for him..

If he truly wants to win. He can get out of Burke County. Or he can stay there and help a few kids and stick a sock in between his dentures.

Don't like Crest.............. Beat them!

Don't like Shelby............... ^

Quit your stinking crying!

EB didn't come out of nowhere this year. Coach Brown took a avg team and them playing competitive vs Burns, chase, Patton,
Taking a down program and beating Burns, Chase or Patton does not warrant COY consideration. That award is generally won by conference champs or state champs.
Will Clark, Lance Ware or Greg Lloyd could have each won COY

Thank you. KM2, obviously I wasn't the only one who thought it was said in a slandering manner. As I'm sure 95% of the other people that watched it thought.
