So now the Dodgers have spent 1 billion dollars on 2 players by signing the Japanese pitcher to a contract worth over 300 million. Baseball needs to reign this in or it's in trouble.
I think it already is, unfortunately. The money in all sports is eventually going to ruin everything. No player in any sport is worth these ridiculous sums of money.

Barry bonds type hot right now. Could have easily had 3 homers today. Starting pitching is a nightmare though. May have to bring up schwellenbach or Murphy and see what they can do

last year this time, he was wanted to be ran of town...lol
I was one of them. He was the worst player in baseball for two months. I literally didn’t think he could see the ball because of pitches that he was swinging at. Looks like a beach ball to him now. Never have I seen a hitter turn things around to that extreme.

He really tightened his swing in last years spring training and looked good. He went into the regular season and started back to flying open on his swings. Once he got back to the swing he was working on, he took off and it carried into this year. Gonna really make the Braves think about picking up the team option for next year.

Good to see him doing so well. Also, Vines didn't pitch too badly last nite. We won't REPLACE Strider, we just have to SURVIVE without him.

Johnson to the 15 day IL. Our offense is struggling, yet we HAD the best record in baseballl, which is encouraging.

Them pricks are gonna be tough to beat this year. I don’t take anything from it though. They will probably flame out late in the year like all the teams that try to buy the World Series . Everybody knows we’re not at full strength. I’d rather bark late. Call me crazy and I don’t know if it’s possible, but Strider will be on the playoff roster.

Unfortunately, I don’t think it is. I am not sure he’s pitching again until this time next year. Shame too because he was going to win cy. I also don’t see them trading for anyone better than what we have in farm. Lookout for aj smith shawver or potentially Owen Murphy to be in the rotation before the end of the year. Not going to matter though unless the bats wake up. Can’t ask these starters to do anything more.

I despise the Dodgers.
X2 bleed. I have hated 'em since the fat man managed them in the 80s. We had Horner,
Murphy, Knucksie, etc and had quite the rivalry in the old NL West.

The West Coast trip was quite depressing, and hopefully we bounce back this week in the friendly confines. It's still VERY EARLY, but don't want to fall too far behind Phillies.

Actually the pitching has been better lately. I think Olsen's hitting slump is really dragging the team down. Boston in town tonite, need to right the ship!!

Matt is struggling in field too. Riley has been awful but he also can’t catch a break. Anytime he squares one up, it gets caught. He always plays good d though. Have a feeling that Grissom is going to have a good series against us.

Luis Guillorme Just got traded to angels. He actually played well here. Went from replacing albies on a good team for a stint to a terrible team for a couple of baseballs.

One out from a Mets sweep and Minter gives up a walk-off two run dinger. Left hand pitcher to left-hand hitter. Tough loss. However we did take four of five this week.

Minter is just a different pitcher when he has to close. Ronald looked really bad yesterday. Didn't seem to be in the game.

Hard to believe, but where would this team be without Marcel? He has really put the offense on his back. Hopefully other guys will start heating up.

i am sure we got a couple ready outfielders in the minors?
Boogie I sure hope so. There's talk of bringing in a couple OF's (Forrest Wall and J.P. Martinez I think), help me out guys, going on my fading memory.

Oakland (a frequent Braves trade partner), has some really good OF talent and wants young prospects as they rebuild. That's where I hope
we barter. I DO NOT want Eddie Rosario back from Nationals (speculation by a Braves writer today).

Just lost two of three AT HOME to a mediocre Giants club. Philles invade HOTlanta for three starting tonite. Pitching is not half bad, but our hitting sucks!!!

Is it panic time yet????

I hope not. But my expectations were low based upon our injuries. I hope we don’t try to counter that with some kind of blockbuster trade, thinking it will fix this season. I’m to the point where I’m good with just sweeping this season under the rug, and gearing up for the next.

The Braves really crapped the bed yesterday!!! They somehow managed to turn an 8-2 eighth inning lead into a 9-8 loss. I saw it, and am still in shock.

Nonetheless ATLANTA still heads to SF a skinny half game AHEAD of the Mets for the final wildcard spot. The Giants are hot. They're only 1 and a half games back for the wild card.

The loss Sunday was significant, as the Braves could have extended their wild card lead(Mets lost too). Tonite the Braves begin the SF series, and they must hit the RESET BUTTON!!
