Figured we could use a fun thread so I will pose a question. You get 2 guys back from any team we had the following year. (That had eligibility left) What would be our greatest team ever?
For me I would add Brand and Maggette to the 2000 team.
Jason Williams
Corey Maggette
Battier
Boozer
Brand
Bench Dunleavy, Nate James and Carrawell.
No way that team doesn't hang a banner.

How about Deng and Livingston to 04-05?

In a normal world it would be just Zion to the 2020 team BUT since it was the Covid year if it ended with him not being able to go to the tournament I’d still be crying

2000: Brand and Maggette

2003: Boozer and Dunleavy

2005: Deng and Livngston

2010: Henderson and Williams

2016: Jones and Winslow

And for single player in a year I would say Kyrie and/or Tatum

On a side note I always thought it was great the one year Zoubek was healthy we won a banner. He epitomizes the 2010 team to a fault and I agree if Henderson and Williams are there maybe we don't win but at the same time if coach plays Z the same and we get offensive boards the same we have more firepower lol. Just a matter of chemistry...

Jason Williams also had eligibility remaining for 2003.

We'd have some darn good teams, that's for sure. I think I'd like the teams in 2000 and 2019 the best.

The 2000 team would return the NPOY in Brand, 2 All-Americans from that year in Battier and Carrawell, and 3 future All-Americans in Williams, Dunleavy, and Boozer. And Maggette was a lottery pick. Not bad. An embarrassment of riches.

The 2019 team, with one elite shooter like Gary Trent and a dominant rebounder/rim protector in Wendell Carter? Team those guys with 2 1st Team All-Americans in RJ and Zion? Yep, ain't nobody stopping that team.
