Or maybe welcome him to the team as our 3rd true upperclassman. Theo said the same thing last year, it's why he was brought in.
I guess. Perhaps I'm in a bad mood. I didn't hear Catchings or Theo John actually say it. I'm going to lose the argument, but John was a good player at a major program. Catchings could not average double figures at Harvard. Frankly, I would not like it coming from Michael Jordan if he weren't even enrolled

He said something along the lines of "I want to provide leadership to the young guys and bring a championship." I think we are the favorite to get Young this weekend, so I'm optimistic. And seniors make me happy.

Catchings is probably a great addition with probably a strong endorsement from Amaker. Based on his stats, I would not expect him to play at all. Duke will surely sign two excellent transfers (Miami can't sign all of them)

Speaking of Ryan Young, he had 18 points and 8 rebounds in an upset win at Michigan State. 14 and 6 vs. Wisconsin. 13 against Michigan. This guy is good and would play for us. Tough experienced blue collar big man, just what we need. I will be thrilled if we land him.

Well, I appreciate it man. Still made me feel lousy. Didn't help that Keels is gone, haha
The kid changed his mind. Screw anyone who bashed you for being wrong. You’re not the only one who heard he was staying. A good friend of mine in the freaking program at his HS said he was coming back and was “shocked” when Keels changed less than 24 hours before announcing, apparently getting great news from an agent and scouts.

i wasn’t concerned even losing these players. Seeing who Duke is going after in the portal though? Yea, now it’s getting concerning.

I was going to say, with Caleb Love back, UNC has no more scholarships available. They couldn't take someone if they wanted to.
Didn’t they have two transfer out? The one that never played that transferred in from Marquette transferred to Minnesota and one of their guards left.
How can they pick up GG if he commits to them? Someone giving up their scholarship?

Didn't GG say he's not reclassifying now?

Lots of good 2 guards in the portal. Maybe we should go after a good guy, but not the top guys that everyone is after. There are still plenty of good guards left. A bird in the hand as they say. How about Jarod Lucas at Oregon State? 6-4, averaged 13.5 a game and has a few seasons left. 38 percent from 3. 87 percent from the free throw line. #8 ranked SG in the portal.

I would rather see us recruit a couple few high school players each year who are 3-4 star guys with high upside potential who will stay around for 4 years, and fit them in with a couple OAD's each year. From the portal I would rather see us go after only the top talent available with proven track records. JMHO.

I'd like to see impact players vs role players from the transfer portal. Ttech, Arkansas showed how it can boost a program despite turnover on the roster. Adding more of those to our talented but inexperienced newcomers would be a lethal combination.

We're going after impact players. Now, whether we get them or not remains to be seen. Great chance of getting Young, btw.

Rumor was I thought he might reclass ?
That last I saw was if Caleb Love left for the NBA, GG would select UNC and very likely reclass and take that last scholarship. But, with Love back, GG selects UNC and stays in his current class.

Baylor Scheierman has narrowed his list of potential transfer options to 10, per source:

Arkansas
Clemson
Creighton
Duke
Kansas
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Nebraska
Texas
Wake Forest

Already conducted 8 in-home visits.

Planning on announcing his decision in the next two weeks.
