Gas has his lacrosse thread, so it's my turn. Preseason top 25 and opened yesterday with shutout of Lehigh. High hopes for Chris Pollard's squad.

I posted this story last year but I'll do it again because it's the coolest and I get so excited to share it.

As a duke fan in Texas, we all know that any duke team rarely comes over to this side of the states. I live in Odessa, and duke baseball came out to play texas tech in the super regionals in Lubbock which is a 2 hour drive. Tickets sold out without me even getting a chance to buy them. I tweeted at duke baseball to see if they could help me get tickets, and a random lady liked my tweet and started messaging me about hooking me up with some passes to the game. It turned out to be Chris Pollards wife, and my father and I were put on the Duke guest list to go see the game. Duke lost the series 2-1 but man was it awesome!!!

The pollard's are awesome, I'll always be a fan

Love baseball. My first love as a kid. Can’t wait to watch the Braves play. Miss watching them on TBS up here in Ohio every night. Hoping they sign Kimbrel and Keuchel.

BUT, baseball doesn’t exist until after the final 4.

This is actually a Duke baseball thread. I made the same mistake. I think I will delete my post that don't pertain to baseball. A MLB thread would be great if someone wants to start it.OFC

Better start watching college because a strike is looming for MLB. Owners are finally wising up and not wanting to pay these ridiculous contracts anymore. Can't believe the players are crying about this. No more 8-10 year contracts for only 4-5 years of solid production.

Northwestern not that good. Plus Northern schools at a disadvantage early in the season, having had little outdoor practice time. We should get at least two of three.

Duke took two yesterday against Northwestern to go 6-0 for the season. Nice start. OFC

Despite winning three of four last week, our national ranking did not improve. Already bested Richmond this week and have a three game series against Penn State this weekend in Florida. Probably have to get into the tough ACC schedule (and win!) before we get much more recognition. Pitching has been outstanding.

All teams have stumbling blocks during a long season. Let's hope they get those out of their collective system. Sounds like we are moving toward a great season.

Dropped in rankings, as expected. Beat ECU today and take the series vs Louisville and we'll see what happens.

By the way, I decided to check up on last year's star, Griffin Conine. Suspended for 50 games (I think) for testing positive for banned stimulant.

Damn.
