Did anyone else watch this? I was curious of people's thoughts.

I thought it was well done, but it certainly doesn't put any kind of positive spin on Knight.

The way at look at Bobby Knight is he taught self discepline but could not discepline himself. It eventually caught up with him. Woody Hayes was a lot like that. Both great coaches in how to coach the game but very poor with relationships. They say Coach K is a disciple of Knight but I think he learned some things from Knight. He took those good qualities, ignored the bad qualities and became the greatest college basketball coach of all time. Remember this there was a time when Knight had nothing to do with Coach K. How immature is that .OFC

He was like that with every coach who started to beat him, or who surpassed him in certain accomplishments. Just like the show stated, Indiana basketball started to decline after Duke beat them in 1992. Gosh., no wonder everyone hates Duke so much. Duke has such a way of demoralizing programs and their fan bases. I love it! UNLV, UK, IU, Michigan, Butler, Wisconsin are all programs that have suffered crushing losses at the hands of Duke!

Knight was a lunatic. Wiping your *** and showing the players your ****? Telling women if they’re getting rape, they should just enjoy it? Sheesh. Top 5 coach of all time, but you can’t ignore EVERYTHING he did off the court, either.

I remember some interview where Knight said (after that game) to tell K “don’t forget where you learned that from” or something similar.

I know they’ve since squashed that beef, but K wasn’t afraid of the old man! That took balls!

Really good piece. There's no doubt he was one of the best to ever coach. I also read the book "Season on the Brink." He would appear to go too far even back then, where his assistants would think he had crossed the line, then bam! surprise everyone with his motivational tactics, and how good he was.

He didn't know how to adapt at all. Knight is a "do as I say, not as I do" kind of guy.

I really think K seeing how Knight went down taught him that if he didn’t adapt to the modern age of college basketball, it would pass him by and he would no longer be relevant. Now look at K, he’s probably coaching 10-15 years longer because of it and connects well with the younger generation.

The man should teach a Master Class.

It'seems kind of surprising that some former player just went off and whipped his *** after he put his hands on them. but that would have been it for the player. Knight couldn't coach today. He was a bully and the way you stop a bully is you stand up to him. He may even be big polar. I don'the know. OFC

Does anyone what Bob Knight is doing these days? He’s faded in to oblivion. U don’t hear a peep from him anymore?

He was “asked to leave” AKA YOU’RE FIRED from his commentating gig at ESPN in 2015
He was big time...usually did the ESPN 2 lower tier game, luckily that meant he rarely ever did a Duke game.

I usually muted the Tv after his 15th time saying that the guy needs to set a good ball-screen.

He still lives in Lubbock. I don't think his health is great, but he'll occasionally still show up for Texas Tech games. Not sure how recently that's happened though.

Knight had/has some pretty serious issues. Great coach, but the game simply passed him by.

Indiana has asked him back a number of times. His answer is always no, that is, if he even bothers giving them an answer.

I’ve always wondered how many of his former players he’s still in touch with? Many of them still stand by his side.

Watching that 30 for 30 was both sad and very eye-opening.

The less we hear from Bob Knight the better off we are. The less Coach K associates himself with Bob Knight the better off he is. The less Duke associates themselves with Bob Knight the better off they are.

Pisgah how can you love Bob Knight? Thats like loving the devil. Knight was about the meanest coach alive when he coached and should never have been allowed to coach a respectable basketball program or any impressionable young men. Quvarious is right on about Knight, he was a lunatic and he was horrible for college basketball as far as decency goes. He knew how to win at at all cost and IU put up with him way too long because winning is more important than respectability, much like the UNC Cheaters. Knight has the temper of a 5 year old child. Pure venom used to seeth from his eyes.

I don'k like him and I didn't like woody hayes either. Both were lunatics.

Curious....did you watch the 30 for 30?

I’ve always had a bit of a soft spot for him. Maybe it’s because of the Coach K connection, I don’t know. But some of the stuff I’ve heard over the years has made me change my tune. After watching this 30 for 30, I just can’t bring myself to the admiration anymore.

I guess to me it’s still a childhood hero thing. But a lot of it is disgusting I agree
