Hey guys,

I have actually been reading these threads since the end of last basketball season (so I feel like I know a lot of the regular posters already), but I just figured out that there is a free option for me to make my own account to post. My name is Jeremiah, I'm from Davie County, North Carolina. I graduated from UNC-Greensboro a couple years ago, (so I don't have any academic affiliation with Duke, but both my father and step-father were huge Duke fans while I was growing up) so naturally, I am too. I was recruited to wrestle for Duke back around 2005 when I graduated high school (but they didn't give wrestling scholarships so I would have had to get in based on my academic achievements). Anyways, just wanted to post a little something about myself, and I can't wait to talk everything Duke with you guys.

1. Waffles or pancakes?
2. Hotdogs or hamburgers?
3. Nanner pudding or Dezz Nutz?

Farmington.
I know Oak Valley pretty well. Dated a girl over there in high school and played a few holes when I could. They also had a nice golf course...
:eek::D BAZINGA!

I worked on the course a few years back when I was finishing school, and my brother was the superintendent. I lived there for about 18 years.

You still involved the wrestling community at all?

Actually I am getting back into it because my 5 year old nephew is starting wrestling practice at a place called Combat Athletics. I also may help my friend a little bit who is the coach of a local middle school in Davie, he and my other friend have been asking me to for years, but now I have a better work schedule and a reason to get back into it. I do love watching the NCAAs, just sucks because its on during basketball NCAA tourney.

Do you think R.J. shoots too much? OFC

And for all the people asking, I love RJ's killer instinct, and I think it will come in handy (just not the last minute against Gonzaga). He does need to make better plays sometimes, but so does every player.

and my all time favorite Duke player....hmmm...that is hard. I have always liked Jay Williams (only on the court, and him as an analyst, he likes to talk about politics that I don't support on his social media, so I had to unfollow him). I also loved Scheyer, Nolan Smith, Luke Kennard, and I hated seeing Grayson go. I put the one-and-dones in a different category, and my favorite one of them would have to be...Giles because he is from the Winston-Salem area and he had a great attitude, and Tatum.

Sounds legit to me based on your age :)

I understand. I am always regarded or introduced to people by my friends as "the biggest Duke fan I know". I have always been hardcore about Duke sports. I was a little young for the 91' 92' championships, but I watched some anyways with my dad. I also remember watching them lose to Arkansas in 1994.

I wrestled at North Davie, but my friend actually coaches at South Davie, I am going to try to help him some this year. My nephew will actually go to the new middle school, Ellis.

That’s pretty cool, I’m the coach here at Jordan in Durham. We have nothing on you guys though, it’s a different brand of wrestling over there.

Hahaha that’s a good thing though.
Welcome J Rables, Pixel have any of your teams wrestled against Atwood's team from Winston Salem. He was at Parkland several years and went to West Forsyth later. Legend around here

Yes, after I graduated but before I coached. Faced them twice, in the middle of their historic state champ run. Fared a lot better the second go around, I believe they were shut out the first time.

My senior year team lost in the state championship to Cary in 2005, and we lost Riverside in the semis my sophomore-junior year (maybe freshman year too) but my junior year, I had probably one of my aesthetically pleasing matches to watch (my mom taped every match, so I rewatched it 100 times) against Jordan in the 2nd round of the state duels. I was beating the kid 14-2 before I pinned him, but I almost pinned him in a leg cradle, which was apparently a big deal to everyone watching, because they all went nuts. Anyways, it's cool you are the coach for Jordan, good luck this season!

I know Atwood, but I haven't talked to him in a long time. He was the assistant at Mt Tabor back around 2001 when I went to App State's wrestling camp coming out of 8th grade and I was wrestling 16-18 year olds from North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, and Florida. I didn't fair too well as a skinny 14 year old. I think I went 4-6 and only beat people my own age or that weren't very good.

You should have been here last summer. We had a wrestling bonanza that was pure epic.
Around here, with our ofc's, wrestling and potted meat go together like peanut butter and jelly.
