There is no championship game for the classic. The four participating teams play a double header early in the season and then switch opponents the following year.
There’s no championship game because the Champions Classic isn’t really a tournament even though they refer to it as a tournament.
Anyone else want a rematch against KU for last years tourney game? I mean, Carter did get screwed with that "charge" call...

These are facts. Couple media guys today said “R.G Barrett” Stephen A Smith said “Zion is a good shooter”. Now I’m probably the biggest Zion fan ever since I saw him as a soph due to his birth father and he is developing his jumper but it was clear Stephen A has never watched one of his games.
I don’t know why but this bothers me every year when NBA commentators/ media that don’t cover college and even some that do have no real clue about a player other than highlights. It’s even worse when dealing with recruits who are about to go to college

Stephen A Smith's day probably breaks down something like:
Sleep - 8 hours
Eat, Shower, other necessities - 1 hour
Admire himself in the mirror (with old clips of himself talking playing in the background) - 2 hours
Talk on the radio/TV - 3 hours
Study himself talking - 3 hours
Remind himself how much he hates the Cowboys - 1 hour
Listen to others talk about him - 2 hours
Practice yelling - 3 hours
Watch highlights from various sports - 1 hour
If you think he watches 1 full hour of highlights, you cray.

Also, he doesn't spend an hour reminding himself of how much he hates the Cowboys. I don't want to get too sciency, but his CB hate has to do with Quantum Superposition.

I can understand if he doesn’t know though because that man works HARD. My best friend is in the media covering the jazz and he always talk about how hard he works and the hours he works.

I’d prefer it be a mix of the teams that made the final four. The would obviously exclude my favorite team most of the time, but it’s a nice way to recognize last year’s top squads.
But I get why they do what they do. Hey I’m not complaining. Getting to see Duke play MSU, KU, and Kentucky isn’t a bad thing.
Heck not just K’s. I think they have beaten UCLA, UNC, UK, and Duke all three times in a row. Very strange indeed

My dad texted me yesterday morning about how awesome the game was and then later in the day texted me asking if the game was on tv. I thought he was talking about THE game so I told him he could probably watch a replay on watchespn. Then in the evening he texted me asking what the score was. He thought we were playing Kansas last night, I had to inform him that the Champions Classic is not a tournament.
It's odd to me that people don't know that but of course college basketball isn't closely followed by many and admittedly it does have some different scheduling quirks that the average sports fan may not realize or understand (i.e. none of the other major sports start the season off with a double-header with four teams playing on the same court/field)
