Why do UK fans seem to think Duke is their rival. It's about season time and just like clockwork here they come. I never hardly thought much about UK basketball and Duke until I started posting here in 2006 and saw how obsessed UK fans are with Duke. What a pitiful bunch they are. They have never gotten over Laettner and were just obsessed when Billy G was hired and despised Cal for the cheater he was. Then Billy G. became Billy G. and they got rid of him and hired Cal. Now it's like Cal never cheated and he has become the model of integrity and great character for college coaches. UL should be their rival. Ok so the two do play each other from time to time and it makes for some great hype but Duke like other top programs play other top notch programs but there aren't our rivals either. Go figure. I would like for one of you UK trolls to try to explain this to me without sounding like an idiot. OFC

They are obsessed for many reasons....
1. Laettner...what other school has a tee shirt with I still hate "insert name" on it? OBSESSED!!
2. The head to head record I posted over the last 39 years
3. Can't stand the experts picking us over them.
4 can't stand that they are not BBN ruling the world and getting all the love.
5. Wisconsin ruins their 40-0 and we win it!! Over the team they couldn't handle!!
6. Recruiting battles we have been destroying them in. How DARE a player pick Duke over the BBN!!
7. That they have been given the death penalty and we have zero sanctions.

I didn’t say anything about us winning it all last year. I knew we’d be pretty good, but without a reliable PG/play initiator, I thought we could lose to a good team. This year we have 3 elite initiators and enough depth that I give us a great shot, as good a shot as we’ve had since 1999 at a title. I already placed a small wager on it happening. The last time I did that was 2006.

Sky's its amazing....K's success across decades has made us everybody's rival. I'm convinced opponents put a bigger bullseye on us than anybody year after year after year!! I think Duke basketball stirs more emotion among fans LOVE or HATE than any collegiate program in any sport....
