After a 2 hr lightning delay game begins. Bases loaded in bottom of the second Duke cannot score with bases loaded and 1 out. Crabtree swings at a bad pitch on 2-1 count and at 3-2 hits into double play. Duke has to take advantage of these chances.

2 more runs. 4-0 Duke. Still early but hopefully Duke pitching can protect this lead. Let’s get on to game 3.

Can you imagine the outrage if Slaughter were hired in today's society? Even back then, it wasn't one of Duke's proudest moments.

You're right. I watched so much college baseball this past weekend that I was thinking it was Minnesota who could play you guys, before they fell to Oregon State. My hometown had two guys on the Gophers roster that lost to OSU....I must have got the two mixed up. Thanks for the clarification.

No problem. It can be confusing the way it works. I don't share @Willcampbell's excitement about playing you guys for a national championship though. Duke-UNC national championship games would have more than normal on the line. Just the thought of that makes me want to drink.

The team had a awsome season and today they just couldn't get the key hit to get rolling. It's hard to follow up a game like they had Sunday. If we can keep this coaching staff we'll be back

Proud of what this team accomplished this year. Did not realize how young we are. Should help with recruiting. Great coaching staff led by Coach Pollard. . It's a credit to Duke University to have such great head coaches in several sports. That includes LX and women's basketball. Proud to be an all sports Duke fan. OFC

Congrats to TTU, and a huge congrats and job well done for Duke baseball. Really proud of those guys even though they came up a game short.

Duke going 3-17 RISP most glaring stat of the game. Had so many chances to score but bats went cold. Congrats on a great year.
