Anyone interested this year. What team you pull for and who would you like your team pick up.
As a Giants fan at #2, there are plenty of options. If one of the QBs was sure fire I would like one of them, but more would like to see them get Barkley from PSU, especially if they decided to trade Beckham, which I hope they dont unless they get the house and farm for him. I like the guy just wish he would turn it down just a hair.

Been a Cowboys fan (ya I know) for over 50 years, what we need is a speed wide receiver, and a new owner/gm......one is more likely than the other....a couple good corner's wouldn't hurt either

I want the Bengals to take the best QB in the draft...Lamar Jackson.
I agree, I doubt it will happen but if he falls to the second round I hope the Giants snag him with their 2 pick in the second round if they take Barkley in the first.
Man..., Lamar, Barkley, and Beckham in a year or two from now could be explosive

Lol those 3 would be absolutely ridiculous. And yes, I'm obviously a huge Lamar believer.

What about Witten's replacement? I like the kid out of S.C, Hayeden Hurst. I read a great article on him the other day and his work ethic and desire are off the charts. Witten is a great safety blanket for Dak and I think this kid would fit the bill. Dak isn't a slinger like Romo, it seems like he uses the middle with Witten and Beasley more than the outside to Dez like Tony did.

My girlfriend is a life long Cowboys fan and I am a Raiders fan so our Football Sundays are logged jam. We talk Football 24/7 365. I know as much about the Cowboys roster as I do the Raiders, she is straight up hardcore.

I was really hoping for the boys to Draft Carson Wentz,i had a feeling he was going to be a great one,not sold on Dak yet,he seemed to regress last year, but we do need better recievers too, time will tell.Witten seems like he can play forever,as long as he can still block and make those 15-20 yarders over the middle,he's got a few more years left in him.i like Hurst too,i think he's high on the wish list, but lots of other needs too.

Lifelong Cowboys fan here.
I can't see them taking a TE early - Witten keeps bailing them out at the position and he talks like he wants to play a few more years. He can't block anymore, but is still seemingly always open.
We addressed the secondary with the draft last year, and it looks like those 2 corners and 1 safety are going to get some PT. We need a safety, since they're talking about Byron Jones going to corner. Though, they may feel that Heath/Woods can get it done. We only had one safety in the 30 visits allowed, so I'd be shocked if we take one high.
We need a speed receiver, as Canadian Dukie said, but since we added two guys at WR in free agency, I can't see a first rounder there (and apparently this WR class is very weak).
I think we go defense, probably LB. Hitchens was a big loss, but I'm glad we didn't pay up for him. If Lee can stay healthy and Jaylon Smith progresses, we could become a top end defense with another stud at LB. We had 2 with first round grades visit. If we don't go LB, I think we go DL. Probably a nose tackle, tough Jones Jr. has said the nose tackle isn't a position they want to pay a premium for.

Good points,i'm looking for a big upswing from Jaylon this year, should be 90% (don't know if he'll ever be 100%).can Lee stay healthy is a big concern,he's not getting any younger,as I said,i'd really like a speed receiver, but don't know if Dak has the arm to consistently get him the ball

Great feedback, Cowboy fans! My girlfriend pretty much says the same thing as you guys!

As a Raiders fan outside of Mack there are question marks all over our defense. We have two young Safties in Melifonwu and Joseph who I have hope for and Gareon Conley our young and stupid CB.

First of all I hope we get Bowman under contract, I know he may be not what he was but I will take 85% of what he was any day of the week. As far as the draft we are in need interior DL bad but I would be ok with one of the top LBs in Smith or Edwards. If Minkah Fitzpatrick falls to 10 I would be ok with him too. I would love to get a great young DE to bookend with Mack but Chubb ain't gone make it to 10. I know Gruden plans on moving Bruce Irvin to DE full time so that may work too because his best attribute is rushing the QB. We did sign a couple of FA on the defensive side that I like too, so that is going to help. In a nutshell I am ok with going defense accross the board, at least up to the 5th round.

I am a nominal Giants fan because of Peyton Manning. I've always pulled for his bro as well.
.
And the Giants should take Nelson out of ND. He's a nasty offensive guard that will be an all pro level performer for the next decade or so. Good teams are built from the O and D lines up. If you can keep Eli upright, and give him time to throw, look out. Nelson would help the running game as well, which would only help Eli and the passing game that much more.

Eagles should go offense heavy this draft. Looking for an OL in the first.

The Cowboys need to rebuild their line as well. That is why Dak looked so good 2 years ago: he was playing behind a phenomenal line.
.
And, yes, the Eagles need to find another tackle. Maybe an elite guard because that replacement tackle started to get it late in the playoff run. But they can take a o guard too high (not really, as these guys are underdrafted historically) and solidify their line for the next half decade. Then, once Wentz is definitely back and healthy, they can trade the SB MVP BACKUP qb for a haul of draft picks. Philly could be looking at a Pats level run here.

If the Jets were going to trade up like they did, I wish the Giants swapped with them. They could probably get Barkley, Nelson, or Chub at 6.

I'm a Colt fan and they need everything except a QB and they're going to need one of them unless they figure out a way to have Luck protected. He's been getting blasted ever since he came into the league. His sack and getting hit stats are off the charts. I don't care who the QB is whether it's Brady, Rodgers, Brees or whoever you don't do well laying on your back or having surgery after surgery. They've had plenty of time to draft or trade for protection but just keep on making bad decisions. Luck deserves every cent they are paying him no matter how many games he's missed. OFC

Sounds like Eli Manning. That guy has been thrown under the bus for about 5 years now, but has had an offensive line about as good as picking any 5 guys from this board to protect him. But through it all Eli goes out and plays every single game. Except the one the grease ball Ben Mcadoo benched him in last season. Man I'm glad that guy is gone.

I sincerely hope the Giants don't do anything stupid, like drafting someone other than Saquon Barkley.

I feel bad for Baker if he's picked by the Browns,it's the NFL'S equivalent of being picked by the Knicks

.
Dallas OLine 2016
Smith, Leary*, Fredrick, Martin, Free
Dallas Oline 2017
Smith, Cooper, Fredrick, Martin, Collins
*Collins was the starter at LG until an injury cost him the remainer of the season in week 3.
Projected 2018 starters:
Smith, somebody, Fredrick, Martin, Collins
If by rebuild the line you mean they need to find a serviceable somebody at LG and have some legit depth for the inevitable injury to Smith, then yes they need to rebuild. Beyond that, the oline is in pretty good shape. If Chaz Green hadn't been a complete miss, we would be more than solid on the oline.

I agree, I really want Barkley. I hate seeing a running back go at 2 but I want to see what that offense can do with a healthy team and a somewhat decent O line. Other than him give me Chubb.

Hard to take this guy seriously:

The NFL just doesn't do it for me except the Super Bowl. Just check the telecast breakdown:

I just can't do it, fellas.

Yes, but...

If the Giants took Nelson or Chubb I would be OK with it. I'd take Barkley, but either Nelson or Chubb are likely to be high level players for the next 10 years, and edge rushing (Chubb) or top tier linemen (Nelson, though a guard, might be an all pro for 8+years) are always useful.
.
But, yeah, take Barkley.
.
Unless someone offers you the world for that second pick.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Behind an elite line, Dak looked phenomenal. Behind a not elite line, Dak looked above average.
Quality starters and depth are important to winning titles.
.
The Eagles lost their starting LT, and his backup had a few struggles. By the playoffs he looked capable at LT. And they won the SB.
.
So, yeah. Depth.
.
A top tier line has 5 quality starters, and 1 backup for T, and one more than can back up the guard, with either starting guard capable of sliding over to C.
.
Teams with lines like that win SBs. Teams that don't have O lines like that watch SBs on TV from their vacations.

Depth and money are the key words for Philly to continue the run. If we can load up on the line this draft that would be excellent. I’d also like to see a pick for the secondary. Maybe a strong safety, maybe a corner. I’m obviously partial to Terrel Edmunds, but he’d be a stunner pick and he’d fit the scheme well on the outside or back middle.
