Isn't it kinda funny we have all these posters here saying I wish we had got this guy, I wish we had gone after him, but half of the same posters say we get to many one and dones. I'll just stay quiet to all the folks saying we cant have success with one and dones. This group of kids coming in now, they aren't just talking. They are on a mission. Hands DOWN the most athleticism K has ever landed in one crop. I'm not gonna let a few Debbie Downers ruin the fun and the ride. This....is gonna be fun.

So there's something wrong with liking Naz Reid? Don't want to read too much into it but you are making that comment immediately after my comment on ONE player who I think is a beast (doesn't take anything away from guys coming in). Naz will be good in college regardless, and I think he would have done well on the court with these guys. The staff must have known something that prevented them from recruiting him though. All good.

Mac, I'm not being a smartass at all towards you, you're a damn good poster. But what exactly is it you are looking for? Should we have just recruited R.J.? maybe told Zion and Cam go somewhere else and got a couple of 3 or 4 stars in their stead so they'd stay? I mean, if you can land the 3 best players in the nation...and you KNOW they are gone next year, do you pass on them?

The only thing getting me past the loss Sunday is the thought of our team next year. However, it's gonna take a while to get past Sunday.

I love our group coming in, if we get E.J. too, watch out.

We didn't lose Sunday because of experience, our best player was our most inexperienced, inconsistent freshman (Duval.) So to say that we won't be contenders next year and have no title shot is dumb, even if we are starting 5 freshman. Take Grayson out Sunday and insert a sophomore Frank Jackson and we would have had just as good, if not better, chance of cutting down the nets.

College basketball is random. There is no sure-thing. A team of 5 freshman can be just as good as a team of 5 experienced seniors. The only thing I can guarantee, if the NCAA tournament was played as a best of 3, 5, or 7 series, Duke would have a lot more championships.

No problem Show. I think we are getting too many one and dones. Just my opinion. Out of the many thousand kids out there playing basketball, I don't like the fact that we have become a one and you're done factory. What's wrong with blending them? Our bench is behind. Javin is an offensive wreck. Two years at a major program, and his range is 3 feet. White is behind too. I personally think he's a little better than what he's been able to show.

The board is divided. I'm right in the middle. Give me a max of three one and done's blended with veterans. Chasing lightning in a bottle is not my cup of tea.

I think Duke is recruiting the right way. Have to recruit the best, most talented players that fit your program. Right now, the make up of college basketball forces kids to be OAD. Hopefully the new rule will allow those OAD kids to go straight to the league and all of college basketball will get back to kids that stay in the program to graduate.

We all should just enjoy the players that commit & play for Duke. Duke is getting the most talented kids in the nation for a reason. Once the new ruling comes around, we will all ponder about if player X might have come to Duke.

As for recruiting guys that stay longer in college in the OAD era? Yes, I can see that and I'd like to see a mix, but Duke has recruited & received commitment from those type players, but they just haven't stayed for their reasons.

Looks like Zion just suffered an injury to his hand and it looked painful in the replay although he looked more pissed off than in pain

I always worry about a player getting injured in one these games...most of these guys have two more of these type games to play!!

I miss watching our guys develop...with our 3 & 4 year guys we could look forward to the jump from year to year... think about how awesome it was to see Nolan, Plum, Quinn, Jon, Kyle, Ryan, Gerald and others develop year after year... each year we are adjusting to a group of kids tha aren't going to stick around. Of course I want us to recruit and land the best players but the NBA needs to allow these players to go straight to the NBA... hopefully a change is coming!

Ditto. The fact our fringe players who come in as very good players and dont progress is very disconcerting to me as a coach.

Can they at least pretend to have rules in these games?
Considering how rarely they call fouls in these type of games, I was surprised when they announced that Reddish had picked up his 4th foul, especially since there was still 8+ minutes left in the game.

So just like the 2016-17 season, then? Because that’s exactly what we had.

Thought our recruits all played well. Been looking for a box score and can't find one. Who was MVP? I'll have to say little and white are gonna be pretty good. OFC

Seems like we could've picked up at least one lower ranked guy this incoming class. Do you think there's some long term advantage to using these schollies on Buckmire and Besser? Are we maybe not done with this class yet? It seem like we could spare one more seeing as how Vrank has one year left. We'll lose at least three to the draft in 2019, maybe 5. Would love to sign one more tough, smart kid for guard depth. We'll see what the master cooks up.

Will this be the last one and done class or will it be 2019. Thoughts from all of you. OFC

So, this game was awful. I think they get worse every year. Many of these guys didn't even bother running back on defense, haha.

That said, Barrett looks ridiculously explosive and Jones looks like he has quite the offensive arsenal.

Can't take much from these games, but those 2 stood out in this format. I'd like to see what Reddish can do when shots are created for him.

Agreed. These games are brutal. Looking forward to seeing these guys as a cohesive unit.

You would have to ask K. In 38 years at Duke, he’s never once used 13 scholarships on recruited players. There’s usually one or two who “earn” their stripes and are awarded one. Many programs do that.

One could argue m, though, that in the current climate, it makes sense to bring in someone else. But I think that’s also why K recruited the way he did last season in going out and getting AOC and Goldwire. He brought in multiple guys like you described last year....so maybe he’s counting on their depth and experience the next three years? I honestly don’t know.

Nassir Little was MVP. He looked great. I really wish UNC would sign a more hate-able player. It pisses me off that I actually like their guys.

I'll find a way. I noticed he celebrated every made basket like a game winner...when there wasn't a defender within 20 ft., haha.

I enjoyed watching Barrett blow by him a few times. :)

Also, this doesn't look like a great class for big men. Is that just me?

I was at the game so didn’t get to hear any of the commentary or analysis but I found Nassir extremely hateable. Not sure if this came across on TV or not but as soon as Zion got the ball in the middle of the second half the entire arena stood up and started cheering to see him take it to the rim. Nassir decides to play way harder defense than anything else I saw the entire game, mugs him, doesn’t get called for it, then Zion goes out with a thumb injury. Has anyone heard any updates on his prognosis?
