Anyone else hear his conference? So who's lying? Him, or the person who said they have a wire tap with him personally on the phone offering money? If the tap exists, how could he come out and say what he just said? If it doesn't exist, how and why would someone say they have his voice on the wire tap? One side or the other is flat out lying, not just confusing information.

I agree. The whole new report that came out of the conflicting times has me confused because I would think if you are on wire tap, then you can clearly be heard.

If Miller is telling the truth, whoever reported they have a wire tap should be fired and sued
It was Mark Schlabach according to the eye on CBB podcast. He disappeared from twitter 3 days ago, and the dude usually posts 4-5 times a day. Sounds like his source might have burned him. The drama of all this is making ESPN a ton of cash.

IMO some people are looking like fools right now. Bagley was completely innocent and should have never been mentioned and others have been cleared and are still playing. Bridges paid his massive $40 contribution to charity and is clear and Ayton doesn't seem to have any worries. Knox seems to be in the clear as well. You would think if Ayton was guilty he would have bounced from AZ knowing he is going to be a top pick in the draft and left it all behind.

I really want to believe Miller and I hope he is telling the truth. I can't imagine him coming out and saying everything he said if that wire tap really exists, and it's really him on the phone.

Intriguing for sure. No way Miller digs in like that unless he knows he’s clean. I was fully expecting him to announce resignation in the best interest of the team blah blah blah - definitely unexpected.

Question is, Does he mention his name on the wire tap or does the guy call him out by name during the conversation. If not it’s up to someone to prove it’s Miller on the tap. It would cost a lot of money to get into voice verification if not specifically identified.

This could be a two way deal guy could just be throwing names out for a deal to cut his charges and time down

If Miller is on a wiretap he has to be the biggest liar in the world to come out this strongly.Hard to believe that the story being promoted is true after that statement

If Miller is lying he sure is convincing that he has done nothing wrong and that neither has Ayton.
I hope for the good of the game he's telling the truth.

A ton of cash and if they are wrong, a TON of bad PR. I am not a fan of lawsuits but if this ends up being an untrue allegation, a lawsuit is in order IMO. I am also not a big fan of ESPN anymore but for other reasons

Unfortunately, it will probably be months, if not years, before the criminal matter that led to this leak is resolved and we find out the truth. If Miller is innocent, some damage is already done. If he’s guilty, Arizona is allowing a crooked coach and possibly an ineligible player to continue with the program. Tough situation for the higher ups at AZ to be in.

I’m betting on an innacurate account of an actual conversation where Miller acknowledges pay for play schemes but not specifically with regards to Ayton or Arizona. If I’m the Zona AD, I let this ride and stick with Miller.

Another point is that the Unc vs NCAA farce proves that if you are willing to spend enough money there are no repercussions for blatant and egregious cheating

What little respect I had for the NCAA is now gone. They have no balls. Gave in to the unc empire. OFC

I can't stand leaks. Sometimes the information takes years to be released, if ever, and the damage is already done. Would be nice to know the truth sooner than later.

The truth most often lies in the middle of two different stories re: the same event. I would not be surprised if something was discussed but not the way it was painted in the press. Probably something Miller is not proud of, but not the career ender it’s been portrayed as.

How you been? When did you ditch the Costanza avatar?

I figured a pic of brown liquor represents me more completely than a frustrated buffoon. That said, I’m doing well and working hard. I am very glad to read your updates regarding your loved one. Your good nature comes through on here pretty clearly, and it makes us all feel a little better about this crazy world.

3000 hours worth of tape... that’s ridiculous. It could be true but come on.

I hope this blows up in espn's face. I can't stand that network anymore and this is a big reason why. They're more into creating soap opera drama than reporting sports news.

As far as the whole situation, I'm sure Miller was discussing it on the phone but I'm not so sure Ayton ever took any money. I feel like Arizona must have great reason to not fire Miller with all the public (possibly premature ala Duke lax) outcry for his head.

ESPN reported Miller wiretap comment as fact Sat nite and scrolled continuously. Then ESPN wonders why their "talent" receives backlash.

I can't stand ESPN (for the last 15 years or so) so I too hope this blows up in their face.

I just read that ESPN may have confused Ayton with Bowen. Wow. If ESPN is wrong about this this is the mother of all defamation suits. Completely ruined a man's reputation. Pretty much sums up today's "instant rush to judgement" society.

Not an attorney but isn’t it almost impossible to win a lawsuit against a news agency because you have to prove malicious intent

I find it odd, here, that he says "I never arranged or directed...."
instead of saying "I never knew of any arrangements"

I do know it's very difficult to win a defamation or slander lawsuit in general and I'm sure you're correct about this but I just think it's comical that these news agencies can hide behind this stuff. To go out and ruin any persons name because you have an anonymous "source" telling you things that may or may not be true is ridiculous. We give the media way too much leeway in this country.
