I don’t know if I like the 10 minute quarters though.
I feel like 10 minute quarters involves more strategy from the coaching staff, closing halves is obviously important, but now with quarters, it just happens more. Considering we got the GOAT, I think quarters would ultimately be a Duke advantage.

As a Duke fan, the last 10 years of rule changes is annoying. Around 2013, the NCAA put a great emphasis on eliminating the hand checking rule, anyone else recall how miserable it was to watch those early season games with a foul every possession? Sure, after years of this rule, scoring finally went up and yes the game is a better pleasure to watch than it was 10 years ago. 85-80 is more fun than 65-60 (Unless it's a Duke game, those high scorers give me a heart attack.)
What I'm getting to, this killed K's man-to-man style defense. Duke used to be so physical on defense and no coencidence that our defense has been terrible since the rule changes.

If the NCAA would have just expanded the 3 point line in 2013, along with widening the lane, this would have created more space, meaning scoring would go up. And Duke would still be able to play the physical defense that we all love and led us to championships.

I wonder if moving the 3 point line wouldn’t benefit us. We typically have some of the best shooters in the country who are more likely to make deeper 3’s than our opponents and it would help us spread the floor even more.
