Stealing stuff from the main board this morning, but I like this one though it’s never gonna happen:

I like a combo of the baseball rule along with a tweak of what Jay Bilas has proposed.

1. Kids can go pro directly out of HS or stay in college 3 years.

2. Players can profit from their likeness. Sell jerseys, autographs, commercials, etc. Take loans from agents too. Caveat that all income is reported and taxable. Additionally, 10% of their revenue is donated to a trust that is redistributited to all 351 schools for non-revenue sports. Kind of like the baseball luxury tax. Lastly, if The player elects to accept money and earns significantly more than their scholarship is worth, the money goes back to the AD to be distributed among other non-revenue sports

How would you keep certain agents from deciding where a recruit should play basketball? Too much influence for all the top players to be steered to a handful of schools when money is involved.

Corporations that pay the highest salaries typically get the best talent. This is not specific to any one industry. Its how the world works. Getting the top talent doesn't guarantee championships. Duke and Kentucky fans know this.

What Dahntay said. Plus, the big schools/stars give back to the smaller guys in the form of a luxury tax. Its not perfect, but I don't really see a better solution.

But not fair either. Agents will steer recruits to programs and coaches that will showcase them to their liking. It may not always be what the player really wants or is best if the agent is forking out the money.

If the NCAA is really about no unfair advantages I don't see that working at all.

That’s already happening

I like it. However, I would change 2 to just, "players can profit from their likeness".

Yeah, I like that better also. And I wouldn't have a problem with it being 2 years instead of 3...just in case a player exploded during his freshman year and turned into a lottery pick...that way he wouldn't be forced to hang around another 2 years, but the school and us fans would still get to see him unpack his bags a little longer.

How about giving every D-1 basketball player a 5,000.00 stipend every year. That would cut down down on much of the agent/player/shoe company problems.

Went to work today at the lake. 1st. time there since the story really broke about the FBI's investigation. One other guy working today is a Duke fan, the other two were unc fans. Thought I would throw something out and for sure I thought the unc fans would know I was being sarcastic. I told them that I heard from several sources that going back to Kyrie all of Duke's top OAD recruits received anywhere from 25K to 50K for their time at Duke from various Iron Dukes. It was documented and Coaches Capel, Scheyer and Smith knew about it because they made the payments. All were cash but the FBI had traced all of them. The players involved were Irving, Parker, Okafor, Ingram, Tatum, Giles and Jackson. Carter and Bagley weren't mentioned but were still under investigation. At least 2 championships were to be vacated and over 200 wins would be taken away from Coach K. To my surprise one of them laughed at it but indicated Duke had been up to something for years although he thought most programs had done the same. He ask me if the source were a tar heel fan because some people would make up anything. The other heel fan said it didn't surprise him at all and he thought Duke had been paying players for years although the money was higher than he thought was. This guy is pretty much what I define as a racist and said no way all these blacks could have gotten into Duke. He felt though that nothing would become of this because it was Duke and Coach K had too much influence in college basketball. In hind sight I see now that it was a bad decision but goes to show you the mind set of some unc fans , not all cb34,ticket and all you other regular tar heel posters . I just found it interesting for me as a Duke fan to tell a yarn as big as this and see one fall for it hook, line and sinker. Now this guy is an educated man, a retired teacher and assistant principal, a veteran and believed the story which just blew my mind because it was so made up. Once again no offense to the regular tar heel fans who post here. I just found it so amusing.Go figure. OFC

Pull agents licensees. Agents know what is against NCAA rules and what is not. If an agent does something against the rules the NBA tells them they can longer represent players in negotiations. Once the agents are threaten with the lose of there livelihood things will clean up.

IMO the agents should be registered by both the schools and NCAA.The colleges should let the AD run the agents.Next all money made from the sale of Jerseys and pictures should be split up between the players and school.Inherent in this does the twelfth man get as much as a Bagley?I say if it is an individual jersey it goes to the player if it is a team photo split it equally between all members of the team. The agent would be free to negotiate any endorsement deal that he can for his clients with the following exceptions. No local small businesses or shoe companies. If a Coca Cola or Att wants to lock up what they think is a future star let them
