Impressive performance by the bench tonight. Hopefully it doesn't go unnoticed.
Kudos to all of our players, and I must single out the only kid who didnt score: Jack White- that kid had an impact w/o scoring a point!!! OFC
Wait, I thought the team sucked, one and dones are killing us, the coaching staff was too old school to teach anything, we couldn't learn how to defend even if we wanted to, we had no mental toughness on the road, and had no leadership.

I'm just happy the season isn't actually over (in January) and we still have a chance at a NC. That's a huge relief.
Some things,
It’s PITT, Duke came in favored by 18 I think had Pitt got close to those 18 we still would have a lot of work to do.
It’s Pitt, I could have played against them and scored and did anyone here really think Duke would take three loses on the road in conference to lesser teams.
The second half Duke took their foot off the gas in the beginning and with all the subbing K did in the first no one could use the tired excuse ( well except for the bench players seeing the most minutes of the season).
Play like that against Miami and we’re making progress. Not being a downer just would like to see this team play for forty minutes as unit

I agree, Shey, we didn't beat a juggernaut, but hell you have to start somewhere!
Our guys needed an easy win...and when I say 'our guys', I mean the posters on DI.

Jack White was all over the place.....pure hustle and intensity....i thought that would have hyped them up a bit more than I noticed.....overall great effort and no-one actually looked gassed at all...go duke!!!
A road win is a road win, especially this year!
The hustle from the bench has me the must excited. White and O'Connell can definitely help the team... allow the starters some rest

Agreed. Thought there was a extended stretch in the second half where the team forgot how they played in the first half.
Good win and we looked great. I hope we continue to improve. Monday against Miami will be fun. Win there and play good D we've made great progress
That’s what I hope to continue the progress on defense over to the Miami game. I don’t want to see a repeat after Evansville.

The bench helped a lot and the defense was good from them. Anyone see Grayson stand up on the bench walk over and talk to Big V and Robinson and Carter when they were on the bench. It’s a team effort and like most said it starts with leadership.

Dirt he really did....lots of little things- tipping out rebounds, passes, etc!!! OFC
Like I said in my prediction I had to work but did get some updates. Sounds like we had a pretty solid game with the bench getting some minutes. Robinson in double hey. That's good. Form the stats it looks like we did a nice job on defending the 3 but had another poor free throw shooting night. We really need to get better. What color uni's did we wear tonight ? OFC
Yeah they are so cool looking and so intimidating. Just can't win in them but they are so cool. OFC
I like the idea of not playing Bagley and Carter together too much. They each tend to rotate slowly. Having a better rotating 2nd tall guy looked much better on D. On offense it didn’t really hurt us to not play Carter and Bags at the same time. Only one of them can shoot at a time. Alternate them and keep them fresh.

Duke has Wake Forest on Saturday, before they need to focus on Miami. Wake took the tarholes to the wire in Chapel Hill.

There's a ton of posters that are above my pay grade on this board and I'm sure you are also. Really don't understand the pay grade comment. I honestly see something like that coming from an thr poster but not from you so I was caught a little off guard there with the put down. There are a lot of posters that I feel agree with me about wearing Duke Blue but I have to understand you come completely from a different generation and guys like me need to understand and accept that. I guess the players choose what they will wear at away games and like I said it may be a generation thing. Who know someday Duke may completely go with black or start wearing stuff like Oregon. Maybe even paint the floor completely black. Don't bother about the black jersey. Let's just disagree on our team colors and leave it at that. OFC
Just got home from the game. It was so quiet in the PetersonSvent Center that you could hear our guys talking on defense. Stay really close to the court the second half and enjoyed the hustle , help side D and the talking that was happening. Vrank has a really deep voice that is very easy to hear and he did a great job of communicating while that were in their zone. With all that said, Pitt is really bad and their student section is worse. Thier adult fans, who show up, departed at half time and the students began leaving at around the 10 mark.
I think Javin’s minutes are more in danger from Justin than Marques. Marques is a big body against big bodied guys. Jav is our hustle “3 and D” player. The 3 has yet to be found. Justin is a better perimeter defender and shooter. Jav is a better athlete and rim protector. I think usage will be based on need when it comes to the bench.
I thought after the exhibitions that JRob had earned some time. Hopefully that is the case now.
Would anyone really think this team would a.) be up by 20+ against Miami, and b.) lose focus against a ranked team on the road? I do get what you’re saying though. I think at this point, we can’t get it all back in one game and this is going to be a rest of the season project.
There can be a buy in that happens that justifies all the crap you’ve gone through in practice, by the media, from fans, so on. They didn’t need us to tell them they stank against NC St., the Wolfpack told them quite enough. If a strategy was put in place, this game IMO is a great way to get them to buy in to the effort required.
I think it will help that Duke is finally playing twice a week. This playing, long break thing I thought was a killer. The players and coaches could over disect every little thing done wrong. I am sorry, I know this is Pitt, but being up 42-13 on the road against a fellow conference squad is damn impressive
