Did Lebron just stare Tyus down after the block?! I like Lebron, but that’s a putz move! Glad Tyus got revenge. I miss Tyus also!
Big imagination if you really believe your last sentence. I agree with your first sentence though.I’ve got no problem with Lebron stairing down Tyus after that block and was glad to see Tyus give it right back at him. Folks trying to ***** about Lebron for no reason at all. Imagine that was a message to Kyrie about leaving him and Cleveland as well and used another Duke PG to send the message to and through.
Not sure Lebron knows who Tyus is. Didn't he call him Tyler Jones afterwards? Maybe he was messing with him.
And yeah, might sound crazy, but Tyus might be my top pick for "Guy I would have loved to see at Duke a second year."
The chances of him better than Tyus are pretty slim, but I hope your right! In an interview prior to the game Lebron was speaking on how the Wolves aren't young anymore.. "outside of Wiggins and Tyler Jones.."
We didn't get a 2nd year of Tyus but we get his brother now, who may be better than Tyus...so great being a Duke fan.
Also great being a Timberwolves and Duke fan right now, as I'm loving watching Tyus start in place of injured Teague. I know there are other Wolves fans here, to me, eye test, the team just plays better when Tyus is on the court. His stat lines don't reflect him being superior to Teague but the ball doesn't stop in his hands unless he's making a positive move to drive or shoot, Teague loves to just dribble. It seems the ball movement is contagious and the whole team is moving it better and outside of a dud against Brooklyn they're playing great.

Reading a bit over on RealGM about the Wolves, and it seems that Tyus is near the top of the league in a lot of the more advanced metrics among PGs, whereas Teague is most assuredly not.
A lot of Wolves fans seem to be coming around. Personally, I cannot imagine that Teague is really a better PG than Tyus.
Wolves fan here, too. Tyus has certainly exceeded my expectations. He might be a better fit for this version of the Wolves than Teague. He's not a better player, but he fits well. I wish I could give Tyus a little bit of Teague's outside shooting, though. That's the one area where Tyus struggles some. If he could knock down the jump shot a little more consistently he would be really good in this role.
They're quite different as players. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well Tyus has slid into this role. Like I said, a little more consistency with his jump shot would go a long ways. What's made him fit in so well, IMO, is that he's not looking to score like Teague.
But he's improving (mostly) on his shooting, DJ! Look at these stats for Tyus' first 3 years (and still counting) in the NBA.
2015/16 2point% .388 3point% .302 eFG% .410
2016\17 .454 .356 .486
2017/18 .531 .333 .519
He's improved across the board, except for a slight slip this year (so far) in 3 point shooting. I do think he's got a good chance to get to 37 or 38 percent from 3 within the next year or so.
Now here are Teague's for his first 3 years
2009/10 .426 .219 .412
2010/11 .449 .375 .467
2011/12 .514 .342 .514
Not too much difference from Tyus. It's a process.
Now Teague's for his last 3 years
2015/16 .454 .400 .495
2016/17 .475 .357 .492
2017/18 .483 .375 .509
And in Teague's 5th year in the NBA when he averaged a career high of 16.5 ppg he shot only .329% from behind the arc. Also in his 6th year when he averaged his 2nd career ppg of 15.9 his 3 point % was only .343. So, Teague is not light years ahead of Tyus as a perimeter shooter...but still better as of now. But Tyus is improving.
OFC
And those numbers can be a little skewed, because the who shoots more is usually going to have a slightly lower percentage. And when I talk about Tyus and his outside shot, I'm not necessarily talking about from deep. I'm a long-suffering Wolves fan who watched Ricky Rubio never form any semblance of a jump shot....Tyus becoming more consistent with his 18- to 20-footer will go a long ways in him becoming a 'good' player in this league.
But, as your stats show, we can't always judge a book by its cover, or before the book has been written. Tyus is improving with each season thus far, as he should, and I don't think we're even close to seeing his best.

Not if your metric for "better" is winning. I'd say chances are not above 50%, but certainly not slim. The chances of him better than Tyus are pretty slim, but I hope your right!![]()

Figured, I wouldn't move him. Even if they add a few pieces, I think they are years away from being a championship contender, I'd rather bet on Wiggins making a leap.I don’t think there’s any traction whatsoever that the Wolves are shopping Wiggins. None.
I'm sure that Tre's basketball skills and IQ are right up there with Tyus,I was thinking more of the Genetic factor...does he have "THE STONES!"Not if your metric for "better" is winning. I'd say chances are not above 50%, but certainly not slim.
Oh, you were talking about Duval being better than Tyus? In that case, I agree, his chances are slim. I thought you were saying Tyus would likely never be better than Teague for the T-Wolves. Sorry. I need more coffee, eh?I'm sure that Tre's basketball skills and IQ are right up there with Tyus,I was thinking more of the Genetic factor...does he have "THE STONES!"

No, I give Tre about a 2% chance of being a better college player than Stones. That said, Tre may exceed Tyus in the NBA because of that wingspan and speed. They're both awesome in their own way.****,I thought we were talking about Tre!!
