This teams make up as far as the type of players kind of reminds me of that team. Duval is a true point guard. Grayson is the senior leader. Gary is a good defender but better scorer than Matt. Justise and Marvin are both versatile. Wendell can score on the block like Okafor. That year off the bench we had Amile, Grayson and Marshall. This year we have Bolden, Javin and Alex. Looks like the same team to me. Grayson was better than Alex is but Javin is better than Amile was in my eyes. This team is capable of playing defense because we had two below average defenders (Tyus and Jah) on that team and we still locked up. This year probably our two beat defenders are the people in those same positions. If Marvin was a dog on defense like Justise was it would be real nasty
For the most part I see what you're saying. Duval is probably better defensively than Tyus was, but he struggles a bit offensively, and of course he gets a little loose at times.
I love Javin, but he's not as good as Amile was. We need to keep in mind that he's just a sophomore and didn't play much at all last season, whereas Amile was a junior. Big difference in experience. Bolden and Javin just need to keep working hard, and along with O'Connell and possibly Goldwire, the bench can be helpful.
Right now the 3 things that are the most important to the team are defense, defense, and defense.
