Hard to care about two guys that barely unpacked their bags at Duke but I do wish them the best...
Just to point out, thanks to the lockout (I think that was why)Kyrie was at Duke more than any OAD ever.

I am leaning that way too. I am holding off completely calling the Cavs front office a bunch of poop piles so far because we do not know what was discussed among both teams physicians. If everything was disclosed before the Cavs agreed to the trade and Cleveland is still asking for another lottery pick (whether that be a player or draft pick).......and this gets out around the league......good luck dealing with anyone Cleveland.Looks like Cleveland did Boston dirty.
They wanted Tatum and couldn't get him so they make the trade public, ensuring Thomas and Crowder are pissed, and now ask for more?
Zero chance this wasn't all planned out.
I'm not getting what you guys are saying. How did Cleveland do Boston dirty. Irving wanted out, and the Cavs get Thomas and a couple others. I know his hip is the concern but Boston jumped on this one as well. Where am I wrong when Boston was gaining a top tier guard and Cleveland is getting one with a possible bad hip.I am leaning that way too. Cleveland knew about Thomas' hip. Danny Ainge had been saying for a few weeks before the trade that Thomas was iffy for the start of the season. That is all public knowledge stuff. Stuff Cleveland and their front office were aware of well in advance of agreeing to trade Irving. I admitted that we do not know what was discloses by team physicians, but i would wager that Boston did not try and hide anything. Given how open they have been with the condition of Thomas to begin with. I am not saying that the Cavs are in fact being underhanded and trying to extort more out of Boston, but would it surprise you if they were? I mean they are asking for a lottery pick or one of the Celtics young lottery picks over the last 2 years in Brown and Tatum? Would it be so far fetched to think that the Cavs would ask for even more? The worst that Boston could say is eff off.I'm not getting what you guys are saying. How did Cleveland do Boston dirty. I disagree to an extent Kellen. This is what Ainge does. I thought he gave up a bunch for Irving but he potentially adds a guy like Irving who I think is much more title worthy of a pg than Thomas. I am big time Thomas fan too. The pick was the big thing here. Which could be Bagley, Porter, etc...if Irving goes in to finish his career as a Celtic though, I could live with that. That trade alone has made me think totally different of Danny Ainge. Screw him.
I don't understand this. Ainge has done a great job. They weren't paying Thomas the max contract nor should they to a 30 year old undersized PG with a bad hip. He over payed for Kyrie to compete for this upcoming year. Nothing wrong with that. Id much rather have Kyrie than anyone coming out of the draft. That trade alone has made me think totally different of Danny Ainge. Screw him.
Why? so Lebron can bail on kyrie next year and do the exact same thing selfish kyrie is doing!? Lmao ..I don't blame kyrie at all ..given that, and if the cavs win, it's Lebron carried the team . They lose, it's his and everybody else's fault! ..all that and the drama you get allllll the time playing with baby Lebron ...the finger pointing by him constantly....imo just how seriously Lebron takes the game would tire me and not be pleasant playing with alone..I don't blame kyrie at all.. and for Lebron to ask for advance notice in what kyrie was doing in seeking a trade is laughable and a double standard! Lmao Lebron is something else ..quit crying and thinking everybody owes you something and eats off ur plate at dinner ....it's basketball..kyrie did what's best for kyrie ! Just like Lebron does lmao...I think both teams and kyrie made the right decision.I never have said Kyrie is not good, he's very good. It's my opinion that he should have played with Lebron. It's my opinion ok? Haha, LOL, LMAO...hehehehe....whatever, lol, lol
This a fact ?Boston will not beat Cleveland. LeBron won't let it happen. OFC
Well stated Lon! Though the thought of Bagley or Prter in a Celtic uniform along with Tatum and Brown is pretty darn exciting. Could even get both if the ping pong balls cooperate.I don't understand this. Ainge has done a great job. Just for your information I talked to Mac McClung's dad today. He said an assistant basketball coach at Va. Tech last year told Mac that he was not good enough to play at Tech or a Division 1 school. He said Mac was very upset with this assistant coach and Tech. He said after watching Mac play this summer that Buzz Williams called Mac to apologize and tell Mac they were interested in him playing at Tech. He said Mac told him he appreciated the interest but he had already made his mind up as to where he was going to play basketball. Shortly thereafter he committed to Rutgers.I love it...but Boston has now given up Thomas Crowder and Bradley this off-season....hmmmmm
Huh?
I really hate that Boston might give up ANYTHING else in this trade. IF the hold up is just a second round pick, then whatever. Give it to the Cavs. However another first round pick of any kind is too much IMO. We will see what happens in the next 24 hours. (if they do not decide to extend the time frame)Looks like this trade is still going to get done. Boston will throw in another late first or second pick to complete. Both teams did well for themselves, and I for one as a Duke fan an pumped to see Kyrie and Tatum play together in Boston!
Boston must feel that giving up a 30 year old undersized point guard plus a few picks is worth gaining a 25 year old stud. There's not too many point guards out there like Irving. If I was them, I'd do it 8 days a week. Irving is that good. You don't win it all without a good point, and Irving is better than good.I really hate that Boston might give up ANYTHING else in this trade. Kyrie is legitimately that much better than IT. Lebron will carry Cle to the east, I agree. However, this new Boston team will be the front runners in the east for the foreseeable future with Lebron bolting to LA.As a Cavs fan (feel like I'm in the minority here) I hope this trade still happens. We were backed into a corner (thanks to the timing of Kyrie's annoucement after the draft and free agency) and this is a huge haul compared to other options. Even if IT has to miss half the regular season, it won't matter as long as the main guys are healthy for the playoffs. A rested Lebron and 4 average starters can win the east and I'll stick to that theory until it doesn't happen.
I also believe people are underestimating the immediate pressure that will be placed on the Celtics given the Kyrie and Hayward acquisitions. They will no longer be the "cute young team with the young mastermind coach" with no expectations other than maybe winning a playoff round. They will now be expected to get the 1-seed in the east and give the Cavs a run for their money in the East finals. Not saying it can't happen, but I personally think Hayward is overrated compared to other superstars. Also, sure Kyrie is better than IT, but is he really THAT much of an upgrade??
Feel like I'll be doing the same thing Lebron will be doing, sitting back watching the Celtics think they have a chance to make the finals, then laugh and go in and sweep them in the conference finals like Lebron does in just about every Eastern playoff matchup.
Laugh all you want, but the laughing will be even better for Celtic fans when we still have a young team, with a great coach and many assets to build on that and Cleveland fans will have only gotten one title out of the prodigal son. Enjoy your only title in franchise history and the Celtics will continue to contend while Cleveland goes through a rebuild without many assets or their savior in LBJ.As a Cavs fan (feel like I'm in the minority here) I hope this trade still happens. The final decision was that Va Tech was interested in the end. That is all that counts. As I said earlier Va Tech had an interest and he was good enough to play D1 basketball.Ok dude...so I was partially right too huh? Told you they weren't interested and I was right...as for the buzz call no idea there...only ones that would know are people involved
End of discussion on this....good luck to him at RUTGERS..D1 yes but barely
