played 36 holes of golf today. First round was with a guy who got me into the game 26 years ago. I have only beat him twice in all that time. I tripled the last hole for an 84...he shot 83....almost had him!

Then went to a course with my next door neighbor. I have never broke 80...lipped out a par putt on 18 that would have been a 79.....almost had it.

Here is to hoping our team are better closers in the tournament than I am!!!

I usually shot between 70 to 74 but I usually quit around hole 12 and start drinking
My typical round is between 86-92, and that is usually directly related to how soon the beer starts flowing!! Maybe one less and I might have made that part putt for the 79!!

My best round was 66 at Pilot Knob this year (-4) but I did just get back from Pinehurst yesterday and couldn't break 80. 81, 82, 81. I have lost the art of putting and that's not good at Pinehurst on glass greens.

That is still some VERY good golf! I'd love to be that consistent.

Close to Barren River huh? I LOVE Barren. Used to fish bass tournaments and my best night ever was a 23lb bag on Barren. To answer your question, I am from S.C. Near Clemson, I have been in KY since 1988 and I live in the Georgetown area near Frankfort

I hover in the higher 80's...and not on courses like Pinehurst. To shoot the scores you shot there, you have some serious craft!!

It's all about finding that sweet spot between sober and overly buzzed...that's where I play my best golf!

I probably play my best with none at all.....but alas, the temptation of some ice cold Miller lites is usually stronger than my desire to play my best!!

Golf is far too difficult already than to alter your mind and expect good results. . You simply can't play your best, or close to it consistently without a clear mind.

Ive been all over lately. The thing about golf is when you think you are really getting things together and you think you can play,,the golf gods send you down that humbling road and bring you back to reality. I was on cloud nine for one day, now I wonder about where my game went. Just amazing how the pros can have runs like they do and shoot in the 60's day after day after day.

All very true. Since I stopped playing competitively, I find this to even more true. Guys and gals playing on tours have a club in their hand daily, so those peeks and valleys (on the average) don't exist as much. As weekend warriors, we do not have a chance to practice and hone those skill sin that do not allow for many blow ups or inconsistencies.

I like the game a lot, but it's called golf because all the other four letter words were already taken up
