Obviously the officials pay attention to the tail end of the play a lot more closely in basketball than football.
I understand the thought based on how the team looked, but I don't agree. Grayson gives us another shooter and an excellent distributor. He also brings fire.
I think the game would have been much different if Grayson was playing.
Grayson could've been there and we still would've lost in the same manner. Regardless of the "edge" he brings he hasn't exactly been good or efficient this year. Yeah he's another shooter but the way he's been playing i highly doubt he would've killed it last night. Make no mistake about it. Despite losing by 14 we got killed last night. It is also in my opinion that he doesn't bring the guys together to play better. At least to me he hasn't done it this year.
It was one game and it was at home vs new hampishire who's one of the worst teams in the nation. What about the other games this season where he sat out for his toe injury? I don't recall losing those games.
He hasn't been as good or efficient as he was last year, but I don't think he's been bad. He's struggled. Grayson had one of the more productive and efficient seasons in Duke history last year. It was unlikely he would replicate that again, especially considering the individual talent around him.
To your point about Saturday, I agree Duke probably doesn't win with Grayson. However, I wish Grayson hadn't made such a big mistake....because I would rather he be out there than not to see if maybe he could have changed things.
I'll just say this....Duke has little-to-no chance to reach their goals without him.
